Speaker Rubio supported Mike Huckabee. We need to find some one for Governor and Senator.

If you go to FairTax.org there is a link on how congress stands and can be filtered out by states. Right click on results and save as an excel file.

Linda, ask you to please explain why activities on FTN are subject to 501 (c) (4) regulations. I asked earlier today if AFFT has taken ownership of this site. My understanding is that FTN is an independent site which welcomes all who support the legislation and the various activities in support of it. Is that perception incorrect? Is this site owned and/or controlled by AFFT?

Linda, does AFFT own this site (Fairtaxnation.com)?

Linda,

AFFT is a IRS 501(c)(4) tax exempt non profit organization. They must also maintain a non-political support of any candidate as a 501(c)(3) as is FFTEA. They do have on their website comments to write to your Congressperson and Senators in favor of the Fair Tax. They have also conducted e-mail writing campaigns. These activities are exactly the same request as the Post Card Program. If there were any hint of conflict with the IRS regulations, they would not have promoted their actions on the website. You must be receiving some incorrect information and there should be no reason to have removed my discussion.

If I have not been contacted by someone with the proper verification that the Post Card program is in violation with IRS regulations, I will be reposting the information on March 4, 2009 and I do not anticipate it being removed again.

Linda,

I need some clarification. What specifically with the Post Card Program was in conflict with IRS regulations?

For you information I quote

"Rev. Rul. 2007-41, 2007-25 I.R.B. (June 18, 2007)
Organizations that are exempt from income tax under section 501(a) of
the Internal Revenue Code as organizations described in section 501(c)(3) may not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.

ISSUE
In each of the 21 situations described below, has the organization
participated or intervened in a political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office within the meaning of section 501(c)(3)?

LAW
Section 501(c)(3) provides for the exemption from federal income tax of
organizations organized and operated exclusively for charitable or educational purposes, no substantial part of the activities of which is carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation (except as otherwise provided in section 501(h)), and which does not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office."

The Post Card Program makes no mention of a political campaign. If you would like, I can provide you with the full "pdf" file of the IRS regulation. I have researched this to insure it is not in conflict with their regulations.

The list of AFFT FL leadership above does not reflect anyone as the State Director. How can I address any question to a person that does not exist. I have also been given the duties of administerating this group by Jim Tomasik shortly after he created it. Maybe it would be good for you to ask the State Director to contact me regarding the Post Card Program.

It would be great to see all the members of the FFTEA and the other Florida Leaders to join both FTN and this group to show their support especially if they are supposed to be "conducting our business on this site"

I'm confused, Linda. Is FairtaxNation a 501c-3?
Comment by chiefcook on February 17, 2009 at 7:21am
I will provide the Florida FTN file as soon as I complete the listing of all Representatives addresses. The Postcard is on page one and two. The pages after that will have the addresses for printing labels for each district. This way you will not need to do any other research. Everything will be in one file.
