Linda, please let me explain the Post Card layout. On one side of the post card sheet (four cards on one sheet) there are two messages. One is directed to U S Senators and the other two are directed to Members of the House. The messages are on opposite corners. The other side of the card is for the mailing address to the two Senators of a specific State, and two Members of the House. One Rep is for the individual persons District and the second to Charlie Rangel. Charlie Rangel, as the Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, represents all Americans. While Charlie Rangel may not want to hear from people in his own District, that does not stop any individual from letting him know their position on a bill that is sitting on his desk! His salary is paid by all Americans through the tax system that is under his chairmanshil of the House Ways and Means Committee.

The layout of the card is set up to be goof proof in case an individual puts the second side of the printer with the "wrong end first". The use of opposite corners means the message will still appear on the card for the correct receipant. It could also be reasonable to have the fourth card go to another member of the House that is on the House Ways and Means Committee (such as Kendrick Meek, FL-17)

I would not recommend setting up the fourth card to go to the White House because, by accident that message might go to a Member of the House and the White House would get the message for the Rep.

This Post Card program is being used in a number of other States. They do not have any problem with sending the Post Card to Charlie Rangel.

Also, the names of the individuals that complete the post cards are being captured on an Excel spreadsheet and forwarded to Convido for entry into the AFFT database using the established process set up with Mark Gupton.

If you have any questions regarding the Post Card Program, please feel free to ask me. It is a process that I set up while discussing items with Fair Tax supporters in other states on this site.

At one point in time it was the thought to let the Chairman of the House Ways & Means committee we supported the FairTax. There has been a change of thought on this but these cards were already printed. The other three postcards went to our two US Senators and the persons own House Rep.
Essentially you are correct in that we should only be writing to the people we vote for so I think we should send the forth card to the President.

Expanding on Brenda's summary a little, the postcards referred to are 4 cards per sheet to each of our representatives and Charlie Rangel. Since there were 350 completed post card sheets that amounts to 1400 postcards completed for delivery to our reps and Mr. Rangel in addition to the other documents that were filled out when we ran out of postcards.

I heard about the Rally on Fox News and how successful it was. I think the Fair Tax is finally getting the airtime it deserves. The tea parties are a great idea. I wish I could have been in Orlando, but I had to work. Kudos to Brenda and all those involved in the organizing. You did a terrific job!

The numbers are in for the Great Orlando Tea Party! Park officicials and the OPD estimate between 5000 and 6000 jammed the park! They are saying it was the largest crowd EVER to pack Lake Eola! The Fairtax table was also jammed the whole time, with a 4 hour total of 460 items signed. After running out of post cards, we resorted to trifolds and pad forms. A great day for Orlando; a great day for the Fair tax!

Howdy, Glad to become a part of the FairTax movement in this forum. NOTE: come join us at the Orlando Tea Party, this Saturday, March 21, at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando from Noon - 2PM. We hope to make it a huge one.

You can copy the code from fairtax.org and copy it into your "My Page" on FTN to display this new petition logo. It is an easy task to promote this important activity.

Rep. Steve King's time for the Special Order is moved up to as early as 3:45 per the House Floor Scheduling Office.
