I've got lots of presentation stuff, but I have no idea if it's usable. In the Cary meeting (even in that fancy setting) there was no setup for laptop & projector. Useless without that. And the Durham library seems miles below the Cary town council chamber. And the forum isn't really geared for presentations. They just want straightforward questions, not speeches from the audience. They'll cut you off if you pontificate too long.

Does anyone have a clear presentation of the Fair Tax prepared to show Price during the Town Hall? Again, not so much to convince him (Dem's don't seem to interested in reducing taxes) as to show the audience.

I'm well aware of Price's opposition. Two years ago in Cary he mumbled something about not wanting to lose the home mortgage deduction. So he did not understand the FairTax, or was using it as an excuse to stiff-arm the FairTax. I would not attend to try to change HIS mind, as much as getting the audience interested in FairTax - and removing Price. It's a good opportunity for that! Ideally, we should do a bit of planning of the questions and the questioners before the meeting.

While it won't hurt to go to David Price's meetings, you should know that he seems to be firmly against the FairTax. Over the past 2 years I have sent several messages to him about the FairTax through his web site. It is obvious from his responses (probably from staff) that he either doesn't understand or doesn't want to understand it. I believe the only chance to change his mind is for a small group to meet with him and explain it to him. I believe that even then he most likely would be against it because I believe he is one of those representatives who doesn't want to lose power.

I plan to attend the Price meeting in Durham on the 16th. Does anyone else plan to attend?

OK, so I'm a nit-picker. Please fix the spelling error in the "Information" section on this page which reads "North Caroline Congressional District 4". I've spent 34 years developing and checking engineering documents, and errors like that just jump out at me!

Hi Michael, are you planning any District 4 group meetings any time soon? I'd like to get working on April 15th activities, and getting everyone up to speed with status of the legislation.
