Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

I would appreciate comments on this: Any details of The FairTax should be discussed only after the absolute neccesity of reverting back to the Constitutional principle of indirect taxation is understood.

The reason I say this is because I have for 4 years been fielding comments at speeches and on blog posts about nit-picking details of The FairTax that folks (usually so-called Conservative Republicans) toss about with glee and abandon. There is no end to this nonesense, it seems.

BTW - NEVER say Flat Tax because most morons think it is really a Flat Tax. It is a Flat Income Tax and must be called such. I have never run into one of these nay-bob Republicans who seem to have the slightest idea what the Forbes-Armey Flat Income Tax actually is about. They instead make up some dream Flat Tax in their heads and spout that as if they knew what they were talking about.

I am convinced that the strategy of tauting the superiority of The FairTax has little chance of success, primarily because people have to be made to understand that reforming a direct tax (ie income tax) does NOTHING except build better arguments for perpetuating the primary evil; the direct taxation itself.

The strategy needs to become one of focusing on educating Americans about WHAT direct taxation is and WHY it needs to be removed completely. Then, since The FairTax is the ONLY viable indirect taxation system to replace it with we vastly increase our chances of success.

Please see my latest blog on this subject at the blog section of my website (www.FairTaxWarrior.com) or the specific blog posting at (http://fairtaxwarrior.blogspot.com/).

I am interested in your opinions. Thanks.

One evil with the current concept of income taxation is that a large share of the population pays no income taxes at all. However, these same individuals benefit from government services. All proposals of a flat tax, that I have seen, suggest a large deduction for all individuals. However, this policy only continues the same problem of the current system.

On the other hand, the Fair Tax, even with the concept of a pre-bate (in which an impoverished individual might pay no taxes in the whole) serves as a constant reminder that government services are not free, since everyone will be asked to make a constant payment for government services would be a reminder that such services are not free.

It's a waste of time to go after the Nay Bobbs. We need to expend the most effort on bringing in those folks who know in their heart that there has to be a better plan than the Federal Income Tax. When I talk about the Fair Tax, I don't waste time on those folks that just want to argue and have no more familiarization with any tax plan than they do with the Fair Tax. I urge folks that have a normal curiosity about the Fair Tax to visit Fair Tax.Org and more importantly to put down a couple of bucks and buy the Fair Tax books by Neal Boortz and Ga Rep. John Linder. Just keep at it. Some days you win some and other days you don't.
