Storm the Hill was AWESOME...the exact effects are not yet known as many of us are recouping from StH followed by 3 days at CPAC!!

We went to EVERY office of the 7 floors of the Longworth building, 5th and 4th of the Cannon and from that point forward 3 of us delivered the "Thank Yous" to the rest of the Cannon & Rayburn.

This was the first time we Stormed the Hill in this manner and learned A LOT and look forward to fine tuning the next Storm the Hill events THIS YEAR...months to be announced upon confirmation of dates congress is in session.

We started with 18 FairTax Supporters, and by 3pm ended with 3 FairTax Supporters. The goal for the next storm is 25 supporters per building (minimum) the entire time!  I have already made notes of the fine tuning for the next storm and look forward to another successful event.

I hope to get in touch with Congressman Woodall's office to confirm any feedback. "note" it has been less than a week since we Stormed the Hill and most of us who Stormed the Hill were actually gone from home for more than 4 days from home....and we all know what happens when one is away for more than a day or two!

Stay tuned as more share their experiences!

It was good enough that there was an overwhelming agreement to have to more Storms in 2011!!!!

I went with others from my Congressional District (FL-24) during Storm the Hill. Our Congresswoman, Sandy Adams, was not in her office. We left the "Thank You" card along with our cards. My card does not include my mailing address, only ...phone and e-mail info.

Today I received the following letter in the mail!

Dear Walt:

Thank you for contacting me about the FairTax.
As you know, the FairTax will replace the bureaucracy of the IRS with a simple, easy to understand tax policy that encourages economic growth while reducing the heavy burden of excessive taxes on the American people. The last thing we need in a recession is to raise taxes. and passing the FairTax while eliminating the IRS will give families and small businesses the tools they need to create jobs and grow the economy.

The FairTax isn’t only about taxes; it’s about freedom, jobs and less government intrusion. Florida residents are fed up with business as usual in Washington. D.C. and by signing on as a co-sponsor of the FairTax on the first day of session I hope to send a message to my constituents that I heard them. For more information about the FairTax, I suggest you visit www.fairtax.org.
Fixing Washington is not going to be easy. but this is a great first step and I am proud to have you standing with me as I bring your concerns to the halls of our capitol.

Thank you again for contacting me; it is a privilege and a pleasure to serve you. Should you need anything, pleasc do not hesitate to contact my office. For more information, or to stay informed on important issues, I encourage you to sign up for my electronic newsletter at http:/adams.house.gov.

Sincerely,
Sandy Adams
Member of Congress

Nice job! Congratulations!!  I'll never get that response from anyone in the Connecticut Congressional delegation. They're all a bunch of flaming socialists/communists.

Come on Dan. You gotta at least let them know where you stand. The Fairtax is totally foreign to their way of thinking. It will take their constituants insisting they reconsider their position or they're out of office. Then maybe a light will come on and they'll go "Oh yeah. The Fairtax is a great idea". Eventually.

Mark

Trust me I have let them know via calls and emails. All I get in return are form letters basically telling me to forget ever getting their support. You have to keep in mind one of my two Senators is Joe LIEberman  and the other up until recently was Chris Dodd. He was supplanted by his clone Richard Blumenthal, who we refer to as BlumenDodd. My Rep. John Larson was Nancy Pelosi's right hand man in the last session of Congress and still is her yes man. He asks how high when she says jump. I have attempted to garner support from people in Connecticut in more ways than I care to detail. Many like the concept but no one wants to get involved. You have no idea what it is like in Connecticut. While most of the country moved more towards Conservatism in the 2010 elections, Connecticut took a hard turn towards socialism.

Too bad those in Connecticut didn't wake up and elect Peter Schiff last year. Peter is a real economist, not Keynesian, and supported the FairTax. He is pondering another run, let's get behind him.

He didn't support it any more or less than any other alternative tax plan. I know because I asked him at a local RTC meeting one night if he would support The Fair Tax.  He gave a generic reply that he would support tax reform but didn't commit specifically to The Fair Tax.

Dan

Ever read the letter Nancy Pelosi wrote to President Bush in Dec. 2004? It's on the Fairtax/facebook site in the "discussions" section. It was posted by Marian Warlick. Very interesting.
