Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

J.C. Watts was a speaker at the Kanawha County WV Republicn Club meeting on Tuesday. A FairTax supporter asked him about the FairTax. He replied (paraphased) that it was an excellent plan but too difficult to explain to the American people.

...is this his excuse for not trying to explain it?

He needs to give the American people a lot more credit.
I do for that matter...
Its simple to give them the concept......its just once people know that and not the 'embedded' and 'inclusive' sides of things its easy to listen to the misconceptions and be swayed on it.

but not explaining a excellen plan' based on just that.....its ridiculous.
The easiest way to explain the Fair Tax (without saying a word) is to show the five "FAIR TAX - LUNCH) ads!

We need to find a way to get them on American Idol, NASCAR, Entertainment Tonight and a few other shows.
I think much of the confusion over FairTax is based on the fact that we're talking perhaps the most fundamental change in national taxation since the passage of the 16th Amendment in 1913. As such, for people who are used to the income tax it is an alien idea, and it takes some explaining on just how it works and why it is so vastly superior to the income tax.
IMHO, most politicians are simply not leaders, but followers, waiting to jump in front of the next moving parade, claiming they started it. It is up to us to build the parade.

Each of us probably has the experience of educating a group for the first time and it is not that difficult to answer most of their questions to the point that the only remaining obstacle is convincing them it can happen. It wouldn't be any different for a politician IF they would 1) take the time to be prepared and 2) take the risk that change this big will be accepted. Most simply are not willing to take that risk and lead (ala Huckabee). It is much easier to tinker with rates and exemptions in the current system.

SO...either we find and elect better leaders in political parties or really work hard at getting millions of everyday people to join our parade. Better yet...we do both!
Can someone design a FairTax Lunch "Tea Party" flyer.

We can modify it to show the time we will show the
ads... how about at a local movie theater showing
a good movie?

Then hand out the our FairTax Nation website after
the movie... so they can see all five Lunch and Tax
clips...
Jim,

I've attached the layout I use for making a paddle fan for summer. It is set up to be folded in half with the inside blank since it is glued to a paddle. As a handout, you could either alter the font size to add information on the front or use big font on the inside to show the ad time and lead viewers to FairTax Nation
