OK folks here's a first. The following remarks are from a blogger who states Fair Tax supporters are trying to "hitchhike" on the back of the tea parties. To quote:
"The Tax Day TEA Parties across the nation are NOT FairTax events, and your organization’s attempt to hitchhike on the backs of them is despicable".
Second quote replying to my response of the first quote:
"When I click on the link you provided at the top of this thread, I am taken to a page this shows me all the FairTax events for April 13 to April 15, and it is clear that the FairTax organization is trying to hitchhike on the back of the TEA Party grassroots movement for its own purposes. And it purposes are NOT the same as the TEA Party movement.
FairTax doesn’t reduce the level of tax burden from that which fedgov has created. It purports to change the way those taxes are collected.
OTOH, the TEA Party movement seeks to significantly reduce the level of tax burden AND the level of fedgov power and control over the lives of Americans and of American businesses.
Now, as for the rest of your irrational rant, where did I seek to suppress the rights of free speech? Even if I had, how EXACTLY would that be unconstitutional? Every copy of the Constitution I have ever read restricts Congress from passing any laws that abridge the freedom of speech.
I am not passing any laws and I am not a member of Congress.
I have heard that members of ACORN will be attending TEA Parties and asking attendees to sign petitions. Sounds like what you guys will be doing, which means if anyone is taking the same tactical approach as the socialists, it is you guys."

I just spoke to the lady who is heading up the Memphis Tea Party. She JUST told me that tea party leaders have been receiving instructions to find FairTax or flat tax speakers for the events.
I, myself, have been invited to speak at several events all over Tennessee and in a couple other states. I would if I could just figure out a way to clone myself for the day. ;o)

I contacted the Columbus, Ohio, Tea Party organizers and they wanted a Fair Tax speaker and Steve is making time to do this.
I think you're just going to get some of this from those uneducated regarding Fair Tax. Sometimes, I wonder if they're the ones actually meaning to start trouble at tea parties. I'm support the tea party cause 100%. Fair Tax is the plan that can actually go a long way in providing some resolution. I'm just going to ignore these folks. Once they understand what we're really about, many will come along unless they already have some nefarious agenda.

I think Jim has it right. We'll go where ever we're invited and the tea parties are welcoming us. Americans are looking for solutions and we've got a dandy!

I agree but I'm a little confused. It has been discussed in the past we need to address people who misstate The Fair Tax or make disparaging remarks. In fact that was the purpose behind creating The Fair Tax Internet Command group and yet now the attitude is to ignore such remarks? In for a penny in for a pound.
