Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

(We need more information like who is behind this, maybe?)

Urgent Message:

I have recently heard on Fox News that there was a movement in Washington to add a national sales tax to our current tax structure.

I spoke with Senator Richard Shelby Saturday, and he confirmed that there was such a movement.

Please forward this to everyone you can. We must head this off before it is too late.

The best way is for the people in this country to come together and get the FairTax bill passed.

People, we can make it happen.
LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Is there a bill number?
You know as much as I know.
I think I'll contact my representative and senators and find out if there's anything to this. This will never fly.
Before we all go over the cliff on this one, let's make sure we have our ducks in a row. The only thing I could find about a National Sales Tax was the one proposed on electric. I snagged this from from the weekly Republican address given by Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH) on 3/28/09 - "...And further, he is proposing a massive new national sales tax on your electric bill. So that every time you turn on a light switch, in your house, you will be hit with a new tax -- and it averages over $3,000 per household." Perhaps this is it?

Of course, once there is a sales tax on electricity, it is only a matter of time before it is on everything else. We need to nip this in the bud and I hope it gets presented at the Tax Day Tea Parties.
With the Fair Tax, Tea Party, etc. movements, I am now greatly heartened to continue the fight with increased vigor. I would hope that "Congress" would put a sales tax on top of income/payroll taxes. Then the fence-sitters would finally join the revolt.

It is encouraging that "Fair Tax" has finally, as emphasized at the rally Saturday in Jacksonville FL and on TV, focused on "Save America" rather that a "fair" tax. Repeal of the 16th Amendment seems to be nudging ahead as the FIRST THING TO DO to "Save America". The speakers in Jacksonville focused on the push to get 2/3 of the states to call for repeal rather than wait for a tone-deaf Congress to act.

States, who have suffered greatly under Congresses' unfunded mandates and the recent economic collapse caused by Congress, have started to propose the elimination of the 16th Amendment to the Constitution. It only takes 34 states to propose the Amendment. I propose we focus on and only on repeal of the 16th Amendment.

Once that is done we can attack the "perks" of Congress with heavy criminal penalties for any Congressperson that gets more out of Congress than an average person would get out of an average employment. One-step at a time. Remember it took over 15 years to get from a Declaration of Independence to Articles of Confederation (of the 13 colonies) to the Constitution.

As in most things in life, most people are slow to move but once the swell begins, it grows and grows and grows. We can only hope that Congress will add a sales tax.

Our government officials are going from column A to B.
Working class making $ 100,000 or less just received a break in there paychecks. Why? To make Washington look good in the eyes of the working class and another way to tax them for more money.
Apparently the Federal Income Tax we were being Taxed out of our paychecks is not enough for them, so lets go with a national sales tax on everything the American people purchase.
A flat rate of 5% or 6% will really help the economy.
Now lets see the Federal Government 5%, State Government 4%, City Government 4%, and Local Municipalities 4% will all be on the tax wagon. So a $ 100.00 item will be Tax 17 %.
And I am will to wager that theFederal sales tax will be on everything we buy, even our groceries!!!!
