I see this as a crucial first step for Democrats. My staunches local FT supporter friends are Democrats. They will be thrilled to hear this news.

May sound a bit strange, but I emailed Rep. Evan Bayh not long ago re the FT. I've been following him a bit, and I think he's just waiting to be convinced of FT merit and support. Maybe it's just me. I'm obviously not one of his constituents, however, I always point out that every representative's and senator's decision affects every American citizen.

Maybe I might contact him again. If any of you live in his state and / or district, please contact him.
I'd like to see us tackle the "congressional score card" @ fairtax.org. Especially those that are "does not support" and "against."

Thanks for the add for Mr.Burr. Sending thanks also to Boren.
Ah, and this is our job, Michele. I'm aiming for the "does not support" crowd first. I'll work on the opposers if needed; I'm hoping the "does not support" folks will do some of that work for us. Silly me, that's dreaming!
That's why you are the brains in this outfit, Miss Nancy!

Wish we could get a scorecard to keep track how many we send. I saw a little blip somewhere about a letter campaign...? Have you seen this anywhere?
Ohh, noo, I'm not the brains, Michele!! Look to Jim Tomasik, Barbara Wilson, Dave Sibole, Marilyn Rickert, Tony I don't know his last name, and Billie, and a whole host of others! I merely follow their lead. I have to say that Barb Wilson has been absolutely crucial to getting me going. I've actually met her once face to face; tips and ideas galore from that woman. She's terrific.

At any rate, we have to keep at these guys, our elected officials. Not always easy to restrain oneself from expressing frustration at the obvious when writing, however, I try to proof what I write and edit as needed. I try to think about what it feels like to be on the receiving end of the letter, and balance strength and firmness with credibility and courtesy.
And, Michele, I'm a novice here. The folks I mentioned have been at this for awhile. I came here looking for a way to get the word out just a couple of months ago. The others have been working at this for years.

I'm thinking of writing an open letter to congress and getting signatures from local Fair Tax supporters I know and sending it on. We have to be repetitive and keep coming at the house, senate, and the administration.

I'm also looking forward to the time we have enough money to get the message out on tv on a regular basis. I believe that a year from now, everybody will be talking about Fair Tax. We've got to make that happen, and sooner if possible.
Me Tony or another Tony?

I've only been active at this about 12 months....but I'm ramping up efforts as OKFairTax continues onwards and upwards.
There are great platforms for spreading the word.
Local groups, websites.....we just need to use that as a springboard....and we are :)
Yup, you Tony! I just came here a couple of months ago, myself.
I'm glad you have much support, Miss Nancy. Thanks for naming names, now I know who to nag. Of course, they won't be happy w/ you.

Are you registered on fairtax.org? There's an amiable gal there who recruits folk to FairTax.

I had trouble sending emails to burr & boren. Can't send from yahoo. One of the guys told me I HAVE to go to their sites. And accidently put the wrong zip. I don't like that. Some clerk hitting "delete" because I'm out of their purview. I'm thinking we either have to get FairTax folk from their dist or snail mail. At least the letter sorters would talk.
Use your address and city, but the zip code for their local office.
I'm not in his district but have gotten personal e-mail responses from his office.
thanks. Didn't look forward to buying stamps.
If nothing else, call them.
