Many Blessings, kind Sir! The DEBATE. Okay, I'm hip. I can laugh now. This is fabulous.

Now my head can quit hurting from studying "communist fanifesto" yesterday afternoon. (I see what you mean, bruther, all those times of your references.) You're a good teacher.
Apparently, many folks are becoming Independents. This is thought provoking. I keep coming back to voting issues, and the problem is that unless you're Dem or Rep, you cannot vote in many state primaries. Seems to me that this issue needs to be addressed. Wouldn't it only seem right that every registered voter should be able to vote for any nominee they choose, irrespective of party?

Example: Mom's a Democrat and FairTax supporter. She chose Huckabee as her choice for president. However, in the primaries, she voted for Clinton though she would rather have voted for Huckabee. Even I, in the general election, voted for a Dem in one of our local races though I'm a Rep. So is our system really fair? We're forced to vote party rather than candidate in the primaries! How very political and illogical. (seems to be the norm for anything political)

I'm just wondering if the change doesn't need to start at the state level so all voters have the right to vote candidate rather than party.

What say you all?
I agree 100%. When I ran, republicans were not allowed to vote for me in the primary if they wished to vote for any republincans. You had to pick a party to vote in.

MANY republicans said they would vote for me as a dem over either of the Republicans in the R primary but they would not be allowed to vote for the state level guys they wanted to win the R primaries for other offices. They wished me luck and told me that if I were to win the Dem primary thy would cross over and vote for me in the general.
You illustrate my point beautifully, and I believe TN probably suffers for it's loss. This is an issue we must work together on. It is my personal belief that no thinking person is a party idealogue, but a United States citizen, first and foremost.
That "pickin' a party" business stuck in my craw last time too. I had candidates from 3 parties that were of interest to me. None of my usual or unusual news outlets gave me any direction. And of course there was nothing the poll gal could do either.

Not in the 8 mos I really payed attention, did any news print offer guidance as to how these guys votes, stats, or anything. Didn't use internet much then. Not many in my 'hood does either. I asked ALL my neighbors. They knew little to none about the local/nat. candidates. Bitterly disappointing.

At last minute I got some info re: judges off computer. Neighbors at the poll place asked me what I found out. Only 1 debate of appelate judge on TV.
I believe for now that your comments are accurate that a 3rd party at the national and state levels is not feasible. Hopefully the day will come but we aren't there yet. For now I personally am working on getting Fair Tax people involved at the precinct level and we are looking for Fair Tax candidates utilizing Independence Caucus and hopefully we can get the Fair Tax added to the Republican state platform here in CO. If we can keep doing that state by state then sooner or later the national RNC has to acknowledge the movement and get on board or get run over. Does anyone know of a state party listing that shows what states have the Fair Tax in their state platforms?
GA allegedly passed SR503 FairTax on 4/01/09. I don't see the diff. Looked just now & can't find other than Senate passed it. I asked same a few wks ago, but got no answ. I'll check w/ another buddy.

MO has something. I read it some time ago. Can't find. Turned out to be a gun article. Here's what I picked up from our bunch there:

We are having a tug war FairTax or Tea Party Iam sorry I sign up for FairTax not a flat tax what the TeaParty wants.
In my brain this is 2 different issues. So if there is a Tea Party we don't go FAIRTAX ALL THE WAY
your statement confuses me a little...
Can you clarify your post a little? Thanx!
It needs to form or we are all dead. Ask yourself, what would the founding Fathers do if they were all alive right now? You have to give up some of yourself for Freedom. Freedom is the key word here. People came to this country to obtain freedom. Now this country is under tyranny something that the Constitution warned us about. The founding fathers are whispering to you right now. All you people out there, don't wait for someone else to start. You start me start, lets all raise our voice and put an end to the suppression that is now upon us!! This is how a decent country was formed. I implore you to take it back.
