Sounds like a great idea, but what kind of a tax rate are they thinking it would take to do this?
I did not see any rate mentioned in the article.

What's really interesting is the name of the group: Arkansas Progressive Group

For some reason, I think it stands a chance. I really hope it gets on the ballot.

I hope it passes also. I'm a coordinator in my area helping with the petition effort. Have you signed a petition yet? Oh, the number from the folks behind this effort are putting out is about 8.2% - a revenue neutral number. But also in the proposal is that a change to this number must have a 3/4 majority vote in the legislature. And it removes the current tax ammendment. Thanks Tom...It's a little tough in my area. I just got turned down by the Wal-mart Manager when I asked to put up a table. "We don't do anything political", he told me. I had already heard this is allowed in other areas. Thanks again for the support, Tom.
