We need to get Huckabee to talk to O'Reilly about the prebate!

He speaks of the poor not paying any INCOME TAX now, but he does not consider how much they pay in payroll taxes now that would go away under the FairTax either. The Fair Tax changes the way taxes are collected, it exposes all the ways we are taxed, that many do not consider before putting down the Fair Tax. And of course, as you say, the Prebate does what? It untaxes the poor.

O'Reilly needs to know the truth!
> I'll put a post up on Huckpac, he usually reads all of them and even replies to individuals posts that matter.
Someone needs to kick Hannity's butt, too, and tell him that the poor DO pay taxes -- the corporate taxes built into the price of everything they buy. Sometimes Hannity is such a putz I can see people wanting to see him whine MORE about how much he pays as a wealthy ... pundit?
Yeah, and the problem is that some people -- O'Reilly is a good example of this -- think FairTax and national sales tax are the same thing. A national retail sales tax is not the same as THE National Retail Sales Tax. I think insisting on FairTax would avoid it being confused with other, less credible, tax schemes like the VAT, as evidenced here: (http://mises.org/story/3502).

Some of this might happen because sometimes people explain how the FairTax works without specifying the name of this PARTICULAR sales tax plan (like was done here: http://www.youdebate.com/DEBATES/TAX_NATIONAL_SALES.HTM), makes the weak-minded think that all criticisms of sales taxes in general apply to THIS sales tax.
I sent him an e-mail oreilly@foxnews.com (quick and to the ponit) in the hopes it will be brought up on his show....wishful thinking.

Maybe he'll read it or one of his staff will....we'll see!!
Great that he is at least for it...just needs the nudge ;)
"Great that he is at least for it" - my thinking as well, and if you consider what he says during his conversation with Glenn Beck in the other video on the main page - it is clear that he supports a sales or consumption tax. I don't think it would take a lot to bring O'Reilly into the FairTax fold.
I never say anything about a subject that I am ignorant about. I think that would be good advice for Bill to follow. He clearly does not know very much about the FairTax. How can someone like him be so ignorant of the single most important subject facing this nation? I will email him and ask him to educate himself in an attempt to avoid future embarrassment for himself. Kind of a 'pinhead' remark made by him, eh?
Kind of a 'pinhead' remark

I'd use that remark as well.....may get some air time...you never know ;)
