CJ is scheduling a Meeting for this Tuesday at 6:00 at Beef O'Brady's in Beavercreek to discuss options for holding a protest later this week in light of the House passing the Health Care bill. A FairTax meeting will follow at 7:00. We must combine our forces to make a protest effective. We must get our citizens in action and get our Senators' attention. Our mission to stop these terrible ideas will never end.
Hope to see you there. Billie in Beavercreek

Beavercreek Liberty Group

What is a Liberty Group?

BLG is a chapter of The Dayton Tea Party. The Dayton Tea Party's vision of encouraging local citizen awareness and participatory involvement in all levels of government has led to the creation of what are now known as Liberty Groups. These Liberty Groups have been established in various communities around the Miami Valley.

Liberty Groups are local citizens, residing in urban, suburban, or rural communities, who come from varied economic backgrounds, occupations, and political persuasions.

The goals of Liberty Groups and the Dayton Tea Party are as follows:

1) Respect for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights
2) Smaller government
3) Fiscal responsibility
4) The support of the free market system

Core Beliefs:
•We love the United States of America.
•We love American Freedom, as defined by the Bill of Rights in the Constitution of the United States.•We reject hate and bitterness in our hearts, thoughts, and actions. We refuse to insult, mock, ridicule, or demonize politicians or their parties.
•We understand that our mission is to overcome bad ideas, not people or parties. We commit ourselves to refuting and defeating any idea that seeks to restrict, undermine, diminish, erode, or curtail individual liberty as defined by the Bill of Rights in the Constitution.
•We will not become entangled in arguments or causes that will distract us from our core mission of upholding and defending individual liberty.
•We will, at all times, live in such a way that we will only bring credit to our cause.
•We will freely share our core beliefs with others and will reach out to those who do not yet see their value.
•We believe that our pursuit of "Politics without Partisanship" will change the tenor of political conversation from one of rancor and bitterness to one of cooperation and common good.

Had our October meeting at Roush's this month. Due to my negligence, we once again had a smaller thn usual group. But we did have another visitor. He was already pretty well informed about the FairTax and we hope that he will become more active as he has talents we could most definately prosper from. Billie, don't forget I need that young mother's contact information. Looking forward to having an exciting announcement (not FairTax related) by the end of next month. God Bless and keep up the good fight.

For those who are not aware, Beavercreek has a Liberty Group. Many members of the group are FairTax supporters and the rest are certainly open to more education.

Please pass along the website info: http://www.beavercreeklibertygroup.org/
(The FairTax books are on our reading list...I put them there!)

Maybe we can get Steve to come to one of our meetings and talk about the FairTax. CJ Bieghler (beavercreek.liberty.group@gmail.com) would be the person to contact to set up such a presentation.

I agree with Steve. We need Mr. Portman to declare one way or another on the FairTax, not to mention his perspectives on "free trade." It has been reported that Mr. Portman earns about $800,000 a year with Squire, Sanders and Dempsey which defended China against a lawsuit filed with the World Trade Organization that China illegally "dumped" steel on U.S. markets. Apparently China lost the lawsuit, but that's beside the point. We should all understand that the FairTax would bring back most jobs that NAFTA and other one-sided trade deals sent offshore. There's a strong argument that Mr. Portman's past behavior on free trade is not consistent with the FairTax, which is why we need a statement from the candidate, not one of his campaign staff, on whether or not he intends to co-sponsor FairTax legislation before the Senate.

My thanks to those who went to greet Sen Brown Fri morning.
I tried to find the hotel but had bad directions the first time. I called Barbara and found out where they were, drove over there and then couldn't find a parking place. God how I hate Dayton for that! Anyway, thanks for your efforts, I know the senator knew you were there.

We had our monthly FairTax meeting in Fairborn Thursday evening. It was a smaller group than usual but had a return visitor and a new visitor. Our state director was also there. Looks like we are once again increasing our support in congress and the senate. Slow going, but well worth the effort we are all putting in. The Next meeting will be posted soon. Thanks for coming out and spending time together.
