Hello to all. I am also a new person here. I have been trying to explain the Fair Tax to people I know for years. Some say they need to know more about it. Most say they think it would be a good thing but it would never pass and become Law. I think it will become Law someday. I am in the Winston-Salem area and about two years ago a person tried to get a group started in this area, and we had a few meetings with about 10 to 12 members at them. But because of some problems he had he gave up and stopped holding meetings. I would like to see if I and with help from others to get this started again in the Winston-Salem area. I also think that with all that going on with these Tea Party’s it is a good time to promote the Fair Tax. So if any of you know others in my area please let me know. My e-mail address is diggernc@hotmail.com.

New podcast is now live, my interview with my guests were Kellen Giuda, nationwide grassroots organizer who just launched www.parcbench.com and Steve, the CEO of www.freedomsfirst.org. Kellen organized the February 28th NYC Tea Party (the one I spoke at) which got a tremendous turnout on such short notice and is organizing another large one for April 15. Kellen.

I will be doing a live radio show on Tuesday April 7th at 6 pm with the Direct of Freedomworks.org – a site I just officially partnered with on blogtalkradio.com/takebackAmerica

In addition, I just partnered with the F.I.R.E. Coalition – firecoalition.com and freedomworks.org

My website is up as well www.takebackAmerica.webs.com

I am pretty new to the FairTax, just finished reading the book and I 100% support this plan. Government has gone to far and this would be a great way to start putting them back in their place. Lets keep reminding them that they work for us, the people of America, not the other way around.

P.S. Is there anybody else going to this rally in Columbia, SC?

Hello, NC FairTaxers,

I've just moved from one of the most crowded counties in the country to the one of the most beautiful parts of the country and I'm ready to lend my efforts to the NC team.

After leading the Tampa Bay FairTax Advocates as the DD for FL10 from the middle of '05 to the middle of '07, I resigned my FT post and my job to work full time to help Senator Mike Gravel (d) in his presidential campaign. Parts of the experience as his Florida State Director were very rewarding--especially watching the reactions of a room full of Democrats as he explained the FairTax. Parts were very frustrating--like talking to political editors of newspapers who thought the FairTax was a "Republican thing" and that there were only a woman and a black man competing for the Democratic nomination. I used to think the slight on the FairTax was deliberate, but now I am fairly certain many political editors have such tunnel vision toward what they already know that they don't see anything else (or new) as relevant.

But I digress . . .

When it became clear that Mike would win neither the Democratic nor the Libertarian nominations, I went back to my real life. I could not go back to the same job, so I tried becoming a Realtor. Lets just say my timing was bad.

Now I'm here in beautiful Bostic, NC on a 10.9 acre farm with an 85-year-old house that needs more work than I can hope to accomplish in a year. I haven't found a job here yet, but the amount I need to earn to survive is far reduced.

I see that the NC10 DD lives in Cherryville and I hope to meet Mr. Black some day soon. Are there any regular scheduled meetings in the district? Do you need another CC for the Rutherford County part of the district? Are there already some FairTaxers in this neck of the woods?

This guy is as brilliant as any speaker I’ve ever heard. He gives an excellent overview of all the things that went wrong to cause our current financial mess. No, I do not claim to understand all of it. But the parts I do understand make lots of sense. We'll never hear this from Congress, especially the folks there who caused the disaster.

It’s a bit over an hour, but well worth the investment in time. Note, his presentation chart pack is available just below the video screen.

Great idea Andy. Repeal of the 17th amendment (popular election of Senators) would be good too.

I've been getting these noncommital letters from Congress folks for years. So I have begun a serious thought process that goes along these lines- as long as we are planning to overhaul something as pivotal to our government as the tax code, and as long as that process must involve repeal of the 16th amendment, perhaps we should also use this exercise as a reason to set term limits for the Congress as well. Think about it. Our most serious opponents are socialists and Congressional folks who love the ability ("power") to manipulate our lives thru the tax code. And is there any institution which has, for so many years, registered lower than the congress in public opinion polls? Not one. Wouldn't we also solve many other problems by getting a new congress on a regular basis? Eliminating the incumbents' inherent advantage over most challengers. Removing the buddy-buddy relationships with K Street. Diminishing the decades-old personal animus resulting in gridlock that exists because of decades-old personal relationships. Most any average citizen you approach about the FairTax "gets it" within a few minutes. I suspect that a new Congress would, too. And I suspect the old congress might never "get it".

Hello fellow NC Fair Tax supporters! I have started another NING network site called Wilmington RANTS! for those of you in and around Southeastern NC (or anywhere really) who want to trade discussion and opinion on any and all issues important to you.

I have posted the Fair Tax Nation Rally in our Events section, and I want to invite all of you to join us! Thanks.

I wrote to Glenn Beck asking him to discuss this on his show. Will also write to O'Reilly.
