Pictured (see discussion) clockwise starting forward left, are Bill Spillane, California, Jim Bennett, New Jersey, Marilyn Rickert, Illinois, Sean Matula, Grassroots Coordinator, AFFT, Terry Stockham, Chief Operating Officer, AFFT, John Collet, Missouri, and Phil Hinson, Georgia. Bill, Phil, John, Marilyn and Jim are the original members of a Grassroots
Leadership Council. Terry is a non-voting member.

The initial charge of the Council is to represent the grassroots and make more effective use for the grassroots of resources available to it from Americans for Fair Taxation. The charge is also to develop a strategic plan to grow the grassroots.

Good morning my name is Laura Stietz and I am the Campaign Manager for Robert Allen Mansfield who is running for Governor as an Independent Conservative. Mr. Mansfield is a supporter of the Fair Tax in Pennsylvania and would like have a meeting with you. We would also like to see if we can get different speaking arrangements around the state for our campaign to speak to the constituents about the Fair Tax Policy. Please email me at laura@mansfield4pa.org or you can call me at 607-244-7903 as I look forward to speaking with all of you. Thank you.

There are 77 FairTax volunteers listed on this site. Only 52 have signed up for this group. If you go to the "members", search "PA" which will bring up all the members from PA. May I suggest you drop a short note to each of the members just to get acquainted?

Hi Connie, this is a wonderful site; but it has to be used to be of any value. You can start your own "group", then invite others to join your group. Harrisburg would be a good group to start. Then start a FairTax meeting by contacting the members of the group, to get like minds active. We have been meeting for about 3 years. Now we are coat-tailing on to the Tea Party groups. We our out protesting a lot. One of our Senator for Ohio is Sherrod Brown and he is not listening to our concerns. We have been to his Cincinnati Office and talked to an aide that was wonderful. But Brown is terrible. You get to know your Congressmen when you write to them or try to talk to them. It has been fun. Any way this is a great communication tool. Billie in Beavercreek

Hi, Billie! I was thinking the same thing. This is the first time I am checking on this site since I joined a couple months ago. Apparently we have the taxes we want in PA, because there isn't any push to change anything.

I belong to Independence Caucus (icaucus.org) and they have been vetting candidates like Bill Russell to see if they are really qualified to defend the Constitution and protect our rights as citizens before we vote them in. Check out the website to see what I am talking about. I sent Bill's name in several weeks ago for vetting, I don't know where he stands on issues other than "Not Murtha" but based on that alone, he would be better!

Let me know by way of this site what you find out. I am near Harrisburg, not Johnstown, so he isn't a big priority for me, other than getting Murtha to take a hike. Good to meet you, Billie!

You guys are really active! Your last comment was July 15th. I hope someone will read my comment and comment back. This website is to communicate. Please use it. Thanks. Billie in Beavercreek, OH.

I received a form letter from William T. Russell saying that he is running for Congress against John Murtha. Do any of you know anything about William T. Russell? Will he support FairTax?

One month until the Netroots Conference!

Netroots Nation will take place from August 13-16, 2009 in Pittsburgh, PA at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. http://www.netrootsnation.com/

We need a team leader who will be responsible for setting up and taking down the booth -- and spend time as needed to make sure our booth is staffed.

We need three volunteers to staff the booth for this event.

We are also in need of funds to purchase materials for the booth!
Please mail donations to:
Illinois Fair Tax
P.O. 808
Oak Forest, IL 60452

Pay pal: fairtaxnow@aol.com
or through links on www.FairTaxNation.com or www.ilfairtax.org

Of course there are many other important events both in DC and locally where FairTax needs to have a presence. Any excess funds collected will be used to fund our presence at additional events.

Remember -- donations are not tax deductible!

Thank you for your help as we move FairTax forward!

Please contact me to volunteer!

Questions? Just ask!

Any one in the Philly area? I've had 2 inquiries to start a biker chapter for FairTax and they'd like local support for events.
