Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

WOW! For those of you who were not able to attend the tea parties or watch the coverage of them (as minimal as it was) you missed something great. What I found that was the most interesting point made in the coverage of the tea parties was Shaun Hannity's interview with Joe the Plummer, Mike Huckabee and Neal Bortz. He asked "So do you think that what we're seeing tonight maybe is the spark, the proposition 13 that ignites the fire that Americans say, we're not going to take it anymore and Pelosi and Reid and Obama good-bye?" Later on in the in the interview Shaun asked "Is now the time to get this (the fair tax) passed"? People cheered! Hundreds of thousands attended tea party events. The estimate of tea party protesters in Georgia came to an estimate of 20,000 people.

Never before have I seen people from both sides of the isle come together in this magnitude since I viewed the historical records of the civil rights movement. One day I was going door to door promoting the fair tax when I knocked on the door and a retired male answered the door. It turns out that he was just in the process of filing his taxes when I came to the door and I thought that it was a good opportunity to talk to him about the fair tax. Somewhere along the line he cut me off and said "That will never happen" and shut the door in my face. I wonder if he would repeat that now.

As fair tax supporters we ask ourselves all the time "What can we do in order to get this thing passed"? The answer is simple. Step up and believe that if you give it your best shot and you are willing to do whatever it takes, you can make that difference. CNN news called the tea parties a riot group of right wing cool aid drinkers and anti-government protesters. We marvel at the size of a group, but will we look in the same marvel at the size of an individual's zeal and character? I choose to view those who courageously stood up and spoke out against the corruption that has cripples this country's financial system as character giants because they didn't care what others called them. Some even stood out in the freezing rain in order to make their point.

We are the ones who will bring about this change and we won't do it by ourselves. The declaration of independance reads...

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."

It is not just our constitutional right, but also our God given right. Man doesn't give himself his own rights. Just because you build a house doesn't mean that you created the materials. This is not an attempt to inject religion into the fair tax, but an attempt to inspire faith into those who support it. Faith that we have the right to stand up for ourselves and for our country, faith that we do not stand alone, faith that we can make a difference and faith that there is something higher than ourselves than enables us to make that stand. What will you choose?
