23% Tomato or 30% Tomato

Posted on July 22, 2009 at 12:47pm 2 Comments

Question: I did some math. We believe that there is an embedded cost of 22% in the cost of everything that we buy. That means that by enacting the fair tax a $100 item would cost around $78. A Sales tax rate of 23% of that 78$ would leave the final price at $95.94. Thats a $4.06 drop in price even with the fair tax. Am I wrong?

This is an example used to explain the 23% tomato or 30% tomato. I did the math and here is the controversy. If you divide 77 dollars by 23 you get a round… Continue

Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have.

Who would like an oppertunity?

As many of you know, I will be sharing the fair tax with a group of shelby citizens this satarday and I hope that It will be a start towards building a coilition in shelby, ohio. I will be making an appointment to meet with the shelby newspaper editor today and I hope that I will be able to convince her to at least allow a publishing of the fair tax point of view.

The Shelby memorial library staff has told me that the library offers conference room reservations at no cost and the… Continue

Josh, hope this bus is closer to you so you can make the 9-12 March on DC.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANYONE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED. THANK YOU.

Sorry I've been out so much!

I hope you can find another ride to the Mansfield Tea Party. My mother wants to attend a Tea Party, too, and doesn't want to go alone. She's going to Xenia tonite and wants to attend the Tea Party in Springfield, OH tomorrow. Please forgive! Oh, I hope you can make it the Tea Party! Take your sign and your handouts.

I plan to attend the city council meeting with Steve Curtis Mon. nite at 7 pm.

I'll try to call you.

Hey, Josh!

Not sure which party in Mansfield I'm attending but I'm leaning toward the one @ 10 a.m. at the raceway on Crall Rd. I'll let you know tomorrow. Sure I can pick you up.

What date and time is the meeting with Shelby City Council? I thought you said Tues. but Steve said he thought it was Mon. Let me know and I'll be there.

Hey, Josh

How are you? I wish I could help you tomorrow, but work prevents me. I know you'll do well. Feedback from Marion Mtg was positive about the information you provided. You definitely scored points with my uncle and that's saying something! Thank you again, so very much. I can come up in the future, if you want.

Regarding the Springfield parade: I'm going down Sunday nite and staying over for the parade. Seems to me there's some activity in Medina county, so I'm going to check it out and see if I can get some assistance for you from that direction.

You will do great Saturday night. You know your stuff. Start with the basics 'cause this is so foreign to those that have no idea. When it comes to q&a you're impressive. If you want the DVD that I used for future use, contact Aaron Schutte at fairtax.org, or try Steve and see if he knows of any floating around. I was fortunate in that Barb just happened to have an extra. You may have to remind Aaron by phone a couple of times. I never did get mine from him.

God bless you.
