Marilyn,

I have sent out over 400 invitations from my address book.
I cannot guarantee what the response will be but at least some of my contacts will at least take a look.

I have a printout of my current PowerPoint presentation that I am currently giving to various Chambers of Commerce and Toastmaster clubs in Southern New England. Let me know if you would like to see it and where I can send a copy to you and maybe post it on this site.

Marilyn,
Thanks for the note. Believe me I have been. I recently joined FACEBOOK and so did most of my extended family, ehich is rather large. Some of them have already seen the light and I am continuing to get the rest of them on board. It's the younguns who aren't used to being involved yet that seem to not have much interest as of yet. Possibly at some point I will be lucky enough to see them face-to-face, which I think would be helpful. I am also planning on promoting it through some of the local Chapters of Associations that I am a member of. I am a retired Special Forces Warrant Officer and I plan on tlking to the SF Association in Fayetteville, NC, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and our community Lake ASsociation about the FAIRTAX as well. I wil keep you all posted on those endeavors. I am OCONUS eight now, but I also plan to research what it will cost me to do a full page advertisement in the Fayetteville Observer. Fort Bragg, NC is located just outside of Fayetteville and I know that if the soldiers there were more aware, they would have a lot of interest in it. Thnks for you note again, and iff you have any advise or guidance/ideas, please feel free to contact me.

Hi Marilyn,

Thanks for the welcome! Was watching the CSPAN broadcast this afternoon (missed a bit, but what I saw was terrific), and a couple people on hucksarmy.com suggested this site. I hadn't heard of it until today, and am glad to join.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Marilyn,
Since 1998 I have been a proponent of the National Retail Sales Tax and have been involved over the years as it evolved into the present day "FairTax". My good friend Lou Lobe and I decided that a Hot Air Balloon would be a great way to promote the idea. Lou and I who are the consummate capitalists decided that a renovated balloon would do the trick. We have traveled to events from DC & Philadelphia to Iowa to fly the banner of "Tax Freedom".
It has been 10 years now and I have never lost the faith that one day April 15 would be just another day to enjoy our freedom.
I fully believe that NOW is the time to unleash the greatest power of an idea that will restart the greatest economic engine in the history of the world. Let's stop using the Tax Code as an instrument of social engineering and let every American keep their whole pay check.
Personally, I can see the prebate as teriffic way to invest in my retirement. Paying a little each purchase and having direct deposited into my retirement account each month. What a great opportunity to build wealth in the nation.

Let's hope that there are enough free thinkers still left down the street and on main street to support the "FairTax".

As a owner of Georgia's oldest balloon company, the recession really has become an issue. Even in these austere times, I am prepared to inflate the balloon in front of the Lincoln Memorial as part of a National tax rally and tea party.
Let's not allow the socialist to destroy our nation.
Buoyantly

it was nice to be surrounded by people that want the same fairness you do.
Thank you for giving me that opportunity.

Hello Marilyn. I agree with the FT. How do you see getting liberal Congresspeople on board? You're going to have to do that, you know. Also, you need support of the President. Bush gave it lip service. Obama says he'll study it. Neither are very encouraging.

My view is that it either has to be modified to suit liberal interests. Or, the other possibility is to convince the seemingly causeless Republican party to take it up as a major platform position. The party needs an issue to unite it and bring excitement back to its base.

The issue may seem mundane, but it's subtly profound. Income tax is a form of slavery when you think about it. Eliminating it is tantamount to eliminating a form of slavery. It's that important. The idea that you own yourself and the benefits of your labors is very important, and a system that takes that away is bound to fail. I'm not saying this to preach to the choir. My point is that spinning this as a rallying point for the Republican party may have some merit.

Marilyn, I feel like this fair tax is America's last chance to save our economy. I have bought a hat, bumper sticker and a Save the Economy Support the Fair Tax yard sign. I have emailed the Fairtax.org to everyone in my address book. We gotta make this go. I can't wait to attend a Rally with like minded people! Let's GO!

Marilyn,

Lets stop adding to the front number. The other number on the members page is less than 0.5% low. That is good enough if you ask me. Its not wrth keeping up with anymore at this level.

marilyn, you will do fine on American Solutions. With your help, we will have more "soldiers" in the fight. We need a targeted plan to pursuade. Pil and I spoke and thought about hitting one specific piece of the FT per week instead of just having 20 people come on each day and repeat the same ideas. Anyway, if one of us goes to American Solutions and posts for the FT, then we come back to this site and "call in the backups" to come on the site and support the FT argument. In American Solutions, I go by my real name: shannon castleman

Thank you, Marilyn, for the welcome. I'm glad to be here. The next step for me is to find like minded people in my county and neighboring counties. I live in Marion County. Crawford, Wyandot, Hardin, Richland, Morrow, Delaware, and Union counties are all around me. So if anyone here can help me hook up with a group please let me know.

Hey, I like that caravan idea on April 15. That's something I could get going around here. Got to get with other strong supporters, though. Sometimes I feel like folks around my county have thrown in the towel and feel powerless. I don't share that feeling.

HERE'S AN IDEA: On Tax Day we should have a CARAVAN of vehicles circle a city of choice on their Outerbelts and Downtown streets ~like a parade route or a Motorcade route! Think of all of the cars that could have FairTax Magnet Stickers ALL OVER THEM streaming through town!
