Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

Let me start by including a recent quote by Ken Hogland in forum:

The fact is, our base is not yet large enough to stop destructive amendments should we land on the floor of the House tomorrow. It is not yet large enough to "inspire" leadership from those who, by all rights, should be our strong allies. We're on our way but we've got a ways to go.

Friends--that's on us. Education and recruitment remain, therefore, our highest priorities with mobilization of support still undertaken but not yet stout enough to convince those who only join the parade--not lead.

One more thought--take heart! If we keep building as we now are, soon enough we will see those now on the sidelines claim that they were really leading all along! We'll just welcome them to the fold and give each other a knowing wink.

While a web-based social networking group certainly doesn't take the place of boots on the ground, it can be useful in inspiring members to activity and planning. To accomplish that it has to be active. I realize there are still less than 2,000 members at this point but there are 70 in the leaders group.

I've just started inviting others from my database to the group...only about 100 at a time to track results. The question is, what impression will they get when they arrive?

When they come to the group, will their first impression be that not much is going on so they don't need to check in often? Will they leave after the first visit with the same opinion that they came with..."it's not very likely to happen?"...or

Will they leave thinking "Wow, I didn't realize there was that much interest. Maybe this can happen! How do I get more engaged?"

This site can be of great benefit psychologically as well as for organzation, planning and communication, but it is up to the leaders to make it so.

Stay active; add to the discussion on a regular basis; make suggestions; encourage others; This site is just a tool, but it can be an important one. Let's make active use of it. It only takes a few minutes to check in, review forums/blogs and perhaps add a comment to one of interest. Continuously updated content keeps people coming back and hopefully excites them to action.

I personally appreciate all the efforts I know are made everyday by FairTax leaders. But imho, with the state of things in this country, we really need to step it up. I know this can happen. Our children really can inherit a society with GREATER freedom than we had, with more opportunity and less divisiveness created by a tax code that has more in common with serfdom than freedom. It is up to us. So let's get fired up and make this happen!

Well said, Billy! I am of the same humble opinion. We do need to step it up. I've heard so many conservatives say "I go to work every day, save money, pay my taxes and vote. Isn't that enough?" To which I reply "NO, not any more!"

I will continue, and I hope others do as well, to educate, enlighten and enlist every person I can. I urge others to do the same! I pray that we leave a better country to our children and grandchildren than we have right now. It's worth working for. It's worth working HARD for.
Yes, the time has come. i think we have a base and all willing 'to do'. I don't know about you, but I just watched the CPAC on FOX tonight with Rush speaking. I don't know about you but I am all fired up as if I left a church revival.

Now, let us establish a leadership, asssign tasks and evalutate their effectiveness.

One or 2000, we have a lot to do and as team we can do a lot. Is everyone ready for the task, if yes hang on!
I too agree with you Bill. Keep coming back and checking on the group to see what is being done by others, encourage their efforts and get ideas on things you may be able to do. Complacency is not an option. Check out the Post Office Push blog I posted and adjust it to your own efforts. I do want to know what everyone else is up to for April 15th so send a response while you are there. I am going to the Defending the American Dream Summit in Milwaukee March 7th. Join us if you can. I'm hoping to talk to Paul Ryan and James Sensenbrenner 2 of our Congressman in Wisconsin. Hopefully I can also meet Herman Cain and some other influentials there. We are working on our approach to Wisconsins Farm Bureau and I am working on meeting with Ron Kinds local staff in Wis-3 to follow up on Jabari's reccomendations. I have yet to see a bad idea here and am trying to run with all of them. I don't write of these things for accolades but to keep us all going. Occasionally it gets tough to maintain attention when we all have lots of other things going on in life. Remember to delegate to supporters as soon as you see their willingness. Most people that open the door just a crack are asking us to push it open. If any of you are like me, you try to do too much yourself. It's a learning curve for me but I'm catching on - DELEGATE!! You'll get more done and in less time and keep more people involved.
Bill,

I agree. The way I look at this site is to compare it to a computer's monitor. It is nothing more than a tool to see what else is going on in the computer (movement) itself.

We need to gather all activists together in one place and get busy.

BTW, We must take great strides not to divide ourselves as we move forward. It is easy to do.

Jim
