Fair Tax Nation

Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

Liberity & Freedom - What's it worth to you? - a Challenge!

I returned from the NTU conference in DC about 1am this morning. It was an unspeakable pleasure to work along side of Jim Tomasik and his lovely bride Linda and FairTax supporter/volunteer Ed Faust for what seemed like too short of a time.

Here is a short list of things that i leaned while I was there:
We have more friends than we know
We have more foes than we know
Our "friends" will remain rather quiet while our "foes" will be quite outspoken
Most importantly, we need to raise money

Now, about that last item... (the raising money thing)
Do I really need to tell you how important this is? We need to get the word out. We need to have the words "Fair Tax" on the lips of every American. Our effort is just not about the money - it is about freeing ourselves from the tyranny of a Government gone astray - a government that thinks it has some kind of right to our money. A government that believes it is entitled to take your money for whatever reason and using it for whatever purpose it deems necessary.

I am not a "wealthy" man - I have been wise enough to carve out a certain amount of it for use as I deem fit and necessary. It is with the spirit and keeping of those that went well before us and gave all they had to establish this great nation that i make this challenge - from this date until the end of this month I will make a matching donation of all funds contributed to FairTax Nation. I hope it gets to the point that I can't pay it all at once - but pay it I will.

I do not seek glory, fame, honor or whatever label that can be placed upon me. We are going to need a lot of money in the coming months and we need to start making a serious effort.

Amen to that!

I just returned to Ohio from the Midwest Fair Tax in MO and I can tell you that we did indeed, discuss some of the very issues you point out; specifically finding those friends and getting FairTax on everyone's lips and raising funds. We also discussed the need the need for effective strategies in our collaborative efforts to coalesce, as well as other strategies to advance HR 25 within the political process.

It well worth the trip to MO! I'm too exhausted at present to share the experience in any cohesive and coherent fashion! Off to bed I go..... :)
I was at the Midwest Fair Tax rally in Columbia Mo. and it was great. The arena was packed and when Neal Boortz, Linder, et al started speaking there were lines of people standing around the back of the auditorium 3 deep . I have no idea of how many people were there but it was large.
Sean, I like your tone. I implore everyone who loves freedom from oppression to help this cause. Keep in mind that people know what has happened in the past if they read history. Do you believe that a republic should replace what we now have?
We all appreciate what you are doing.
Interesting question Clayton...

According to recorded history, we are supposed to have a republic already - more specifically, a "Representative Republic" (that was what was created in 1787). However, I doubt that any American with an understanding of our history can see such a Republic when they look at what is in place now in DC.

From what I understand, the founding fathers never envisioned we would end up with the professional politicians we have today. Instead, the thought was that these "citizen representatives" would serve a term or two and then return from whence they came. Don't forget that Senators were originally appointed by the states and not elected - we can thank the 17th amendment for that bit of change that I believe only strengthens the Federal government and weakens States' rights.

At this point, as much as I dislike making changes to the Constitution (except for the FairTax), I feel the only way for us to get back to the Republic that was created in 1787 is to impose term limits. I have a hard time believing that anyone who has 20+ years in Congress remembers why they went there in the first place.

Having said all of that, the answer to your question is "Yes, lets replace whatever we have now with the Republic that we are supposed to have".
Just adding a comment to keep the topic on the front page for a while longer - if the challenge is not visible, then it cannot be accepted.
Liberty and Freedom are worth MORE to me than $$$!! Currently I do not have money to donate, so I give of my time as I attend meetings, solicit solicitors, write letters to editors and challenge my firends to get EDUCATED and join the FairTax GRASSROOTS movement!! Know that when I have the money to donate "I will" and do in a round about sort of way as I pay for T-Shirts, signs, printing, CD-R's and the like.

Hats off to you Sean as you and so many of us keep the momentum of this legislation alive and GROWING!!!

While we need a lot of money we also need a lot of people just doing the "little" things that are FREE: blogging on different websites, letters to the editor, standing on the street corner with FairTax Sign in hand and waving, talking to friends, family, co-workers!!! (time is $$$) Goooo FairTax!!
Dear Jamie,

I hope you know that my challenge was not issued to you or the many others here at FTN who already give so much of their time, energy and other personal resources in support of the Fair Tax. There are so many more that just can't devote themselves to that level of effort but might be willing to donate a few dollars to the cause - and it is for these very same people that my challenge is intended.

In addition to not being wealthy, I am also not very patient (just ask my wife and she will tell you so). My intent is to raise funds for media promotion of the Fair Tax (sorry, I'm just not patient enough to get the word out one person at a time). I honestly believe that the next year or so (2010 elections) could well prove to be a major turning point in passage of the Fair Tax. I am of the opinion that we need to get the word out to as many people that we can as soon as possible. The only way I know to do this is through radio and television spots, and that's going to take a lot of $$$. It is indeed time for the Fair Tax, that time is right now - and we need to get started soon.
Shawn, great idea,
In my saving Christmas campaign, I got a lot of attention and got the word out by calling into talk radio shows and giving comments when the topic was appropriate. You would not believe how easy it is to get on the radio talk shows if you are somewhat articulate and can state your facts etc. after a while, I got know as Paul form Marysville, and when I called, they put me right on and let me talk. I got emails and got to know the radios hosts like John Carlson and Kirby Wilbur and Ken Shram and even got on the Michael Savage show here in Seattle area. They listen and talk and let you put out your website page like savingchristmas.org etc. Also, by writing to the TV and newspaper and radio on their: do you have any news storys? let us know links. You'd be surprised. I now have a link to every newspaper, radio station and tv station in the United states due to my www.savingchristmas.org campaign. I put on rallies in Seattle and got on talk radio interviews and even Bill O'Rielly's office spent several hours going over my website when he was doing his war on Christmas campaign. I was interviewed by CBS out of new york but it got bumped due to a commercial plane wreck, but I was on the local TV news stations quite a bit, and I got emails from, Germany, Australia, on Republic radio which was broadcast nationally. By doing newspaper interviews in the Seattle times and Seattle Post Intelligencer, I recieved emails from all over the world because people go online and read the papers and the word gets out to thousands and thousands of people. The media is the way to go. Let's work together and drum up support for our cause. Paul, A Fellow Patriot
Paul,

OK, now I know what you meant in your email. I've taken a brief look at your Saving Christmas site (and I'm all for it by the way). You're right, you seem to have a lot more experience at this than I do, so yes please - let's team up and get the FairTax message spread throughout this great land and "every inhabitant thereof".

Sorry, I looked at my email before I checked the discussions.

I agree, let's work together and do it and let's do it now!!! I'm ready - just tell me what you need from me and what I can do!
Adding another comment to keep the topic on the front page for a while longer, hopefully through the end of the month.
Hi Shawn and everyone,
Please share this letter from Eagle Six, it will inspire us all, Paul

An inspiring letter from a new member and Fellow Patriot at smartgirpolitics.com, Eagle Six

Thank You for the kind words. It's my belief, everyone plays a part in defending our great country. I was 11B40 in the US Army, that MOS is Infantry. Whether it is considered good or bad luck, that is where I spent my service time, in the Infantry, most of it in combat. But, me and others like me, could not have done our jobs without others like you, doing your job. In the military alone, mostly you hear about the special units, Delta, Rangers, Special Forces, Scout-Snipers, Airborne. The truth is we are a small percentage, compared to the support team of drivers, cooks, weather forecasters, administrators, secretaries, and on and on I could go. And, then there are all the citizen civilians who contribute and support our military, without which, we could not have accomplished our mission, and quite frankly, if people weren't back home living free and carrying on the American Life, I wouldn't have wanted to fight.......without those back home, there would be little to fight for - - - - In my eye, everyone, military or not, has a part of America and a job to do........just more likely they make a movie about a combat soldier, than a short-order cook in Detroit. The fact is that short-order cook, feeds the workers, that crank out the cars, whose sales feed the economy, which provides funding for the military, and some of that money kept me in ammo! And, the short-order cooks, to me are the hero's, those who are forgotten.....I've gone three days without a meal, you can bet I didn't forget them, a short-order cook is my hero......

Thanks Again, Paul....Keep Your Powder Dry and Watch Your Six.

Best Regards......Eagle Six
It's not about glory and fame, it's about What's right for America. As an NTU member, I wish I could've gone. I think we oughta try to do more within reason of what we can. I got one of my college professors to become a Fair Tax supporter.
