Replace All Federal Taxes on Income with the Fair Tax Act , HR 25

"I pledge to support the Fair Tax and will Co-Sponsor HR-25 if elected" Form

Has anyone got a copy of a statement (form) that a candidate for Federal office can sign that states the individual currently supports the Fair Tax, will become an advocate of the Fair Tax during the election cycle and will co-sponsor the bill HR-25 if they are elected?

Has AFFT or FTN prepared such a form to be used countrywide?  We need one NOW!  Please post one on this thread if you have one.

Luckily, I discovered your post and I now have the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Eric Forcade and I am running for Fl US Congressional District 10. I am a huge Fairtax supporter and I have vowed to fight to institute the Fairtax when I'm elected. If you go my website www.ForcadeForCongress.com you will discover a tab that I have labeled "My Contract". There you will see a contract that I have created with several pledges with of course one of them being the fairtax. You can also listen to several radio interviews in the "news" and "media" tabs that I have done where I again tout the fairtax so I am definately a real supporter. Please help spread my message and if you can provide a small donation so I can continue on with my campaign and fight for our common goal of the fairtax.
Greetings Eric,

I presume that you are referring to item #5 in your contract - it does not specifically mention the FairTax by name and it also states that you want to "reorganize" the IRS - any good FairTaxer knows the FairTax abolishesthe IRS, not reorganizeit.

I watched the YouTube "Intro" video and looked at "National Sales Tax" under "Issues" - no direct mention of the FairTax in those either. Just exactly where are you "touting" the FairTax?
I apologize for any confusion that I may have caused. I looked at my issues section and discovered that I had neglected to mention the fairtax by name. I have since corrected that and it is mentioned in the issues page. If you go to the "media" and "news" tabs you will see two radio interviews that I have given where I discuss the fairtax. Unfortunately, not everyone knows the fairtax by name so I've tried to simplify the discussion by mentioning a national sales tax which I believe everyone can understand. There is only one real national sales tax plan that I know of so I "assumed" (I understand that was my mistake) that everyone would know that I was talking about the fairtax. Again, thank you Sean for pointing out my mistake of leaving the "fairtax" by name out of my issues section. Hopefully I have successfully rectified the situation.

Regarding your point about reorganizing the IRS, let me explain further. I would like to see the IRS become almost like a watchdog group for the people where it audits actual government agencies and any other corporations or groups (like Acorn) that receives our tax money. In my mind the IRS would serve no direct functions on the people or corporations that are not in bed with the government.

Don't forget to checkout my "media" and "news" tabs for my interviews about the fairtax.
The Democratic leadership floated a "national sales tax" idea this past year. It is better known as a VAT tax. It was done as a means to confuse the American People with different "national sales tax" systems.

This is why you must promote the Fair Tax and not "a national sales tax" idea.

The more you mention "Fair Tax", the better it will be. Democrats will not be able to lie about it because the people will know what it will do for them.
Eric,

Could you please be more specific about which of the videos we should watch? I saw two videos pertaining to the 10th amendment and one interview on blogtalkradio under the "news" tab (not to mention your intro video). There is an additional audio interview under the "media" tab.

You're right that not everyone has heard about the FairTax - and that's the point. If you're "touting" the FairTax then you have to call it by name, something like "...a national sales (or consumption) tax called the FairTax" would work fine. The idea is to reach as many ears with the word FairTax as possible.

About the IRS - it needs to be relegated to the history books. One of the main focal points of the FairTax is to abolish this agency. If you're supporting passage of the FairTax then you endorse this objective as well - they are not separable. I'm all in favor of your watchdog group, but create a new one with a new charter that will do the auditing - the government seems to do a pretty good job at that anyway.
> Better yet put the FairTax logo on your site! Let people know exactly where you stand on this issue.
Alrighty gentlemen, I'm not sure how we got off on what appears to be the wrong foot. Please don't mistake my lack of fairtax name recognition as lack of support. You all have pointed out several inadequencies on my webiste regarding mention of a national sales tax versus the fairtax. Know that I only mention the NST because people not familiar with the fairtax can automatically relate to the NST.

I have hopefully made the appropriate changes to my website to satisfy your questions about my fairtax loyalty. Regarding Sean's comments about which interviews to listen to. In the news section, listen to the Blogtalkradio.com interview. It was with Matt Brower who is also a huge fairtax supporter. In the media section, listen to the AM Tampa Bay interview.

Gentlemen, I hope we can get past any initial confusion regarding my support of the fairtax. I was a supporter of the fairtax prior to running for office and I will remain one after I am done. We are working for the same goal, so let's work togther.
> Newt Gingrich's organization "American Solutions" has used a reference to a National Sales Tax to dissuade people from supporting the FairTax. They are supporting the Flat Tax proposed by Steve Forbes and pushed by Dick Armey. They have misrepresented the FairTax in their surveys and thus it is important to distinguish your support for the FairTax as just that.
I am still looking for a form that the candidates can sign. Does anyone have one?
