I have no hope of the current crop of Congresscritters to ever pass the Fair Tax. The Republicans had the majority in both houses and the White House for 6 years and never did anything. I think we need to replace the whole bunch of them. That's why I got involved with the Get Out Of Our House movement. Check it out and tell me what you think about getting a new herd of Congresscritters to better serve us and get the Fair Tax Movement.

Great work, Marv. My congresscritter is Kevin Brady, who is not only a co-sponsor of HR 25, but a member of the Ways & Means Committee. That's the primary reason why I keep voting for him. If it were not for the above facts, I would run against him, myself.

Great news! As they promised me last week, I just learned that Congressman Ralph Hall (TX-4) and Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12) HAVE signed on to co-sponsor HR 25 as of Oct 6, 2009! It pays to make those phone calls. That makes 58 co-sponsors in the House.

I encourage you all to call your congressmen/women if they are not yet co-sponsors.

State Rep Donna Howard (D, Austin) is having a series of townhall meetings coming up. Even though she is a state rep, not a US rep, it would be good to introduce the idea of the FairTax to her.

It would be great to eliminate Texas property taxes and replace them with a state FairTax. Try to make one of the meetings:

Town Hall Meeting
hosted by State Representative Donna Howard

Ask Rep. Howard questions about the 81st Legislative Session, share your concerns about what's going on in House District 48, or just listen to what others have to say. These meetings will be informal so you can come and go at your convenience. The dates and times are listed below and can also be found in the Capitol Report sent to all district residents.

Wednesday, October 7th 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Old Quarry Library
7501 Village Center
Austin, TX 78758

Wednesday, October 14th 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Westbank Community Library
1309 Westbank Drive
Austin, TX 78746

Wednesday, October 21st 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Cook Elementary
1511 Cripple Creek
Austin, TX 78758

Saturday, October 24th 10:00am - 12:00pm
Travis County Northwest Rural Community Center
18649 FM 1431
Jonestown, TX 78645

Please call 512-463-0631 with any questions. We hope to see you there!

After having conversations today with the offices of Congressman Ralph Hall (TX-4) and Congresswoman Kay Granger (TX-12), I expect to have 2 more co-sponsors on HR 25.

If this does happen, I hope other DD's and SD's will invest a few short moments into calling their congressmen. It may work. Let's go after them!

I just sent this letter to Senators Cornyn and Hutchison, and Cong. Pete Olson and John Culberson, TX GOP, Michael Steel (RNC) and my local county chairman. Please consider sending this to our Texas Senators and you congressman.

The Democrats continue to run roughshod over our freedom, endanger our private companies, impose excessive spending, threaten carbon taxes on energy, and now are endangering our healthcare.
As requested in the below memo of May 12, 2009, we have heard no solutions, filibustering, foot stomping, or ANYTHING from Republicans. Democrats were able to block the Republican agenda and stopped our judicial nominees when they were in the minority.
Why do you Republicans go to the office each day?? For what?? For whom?? Do you plan to do ANYTHING?

Marv Kuhn
PS The FairTax (HR 25/SB 296) would solve many of these problems. Why is it not even being discussed?

May 12, 2009

To: Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison
To: Senator John Cornyn

We have heard you say we will (1) stand against Obama’s socialism, and also, (2) offer amendments.
Since few of President Obama’s policies are legislative, what do you plan to do to help the American people with his destruction of our freedoms?

I'm sorry, Marv, but for me, boycotting Hendee's restaurant isn't an option. You see, I used to be a regular at Hendee's restaurant. But long ago, I became aware of what a biased idiot he is and have not been to his restaurant since. It's rather difficult to further boycott a business that you are already boycotting.

However, like many other FairTaxers, who have been quietly boycotting Hendee's restaurant for some time, I would be glad to see some of you at other steak houses. In fact, since boycotting Hendee's restaurant, I have found more than a few excellent steak houses, that serve at least as good a steak and provide better service, for a comparable price.

I will, however, try to call in, whenever I have time to do so. The problem is that I have not listened to his show in ages and so, I never think about tuning in any more. Then, when I do think about it, the thought turns my stomach. He really is a loon, you know.

I would suggest sending Hendee copies of the FairTax Book, but based upon his massive lack of factual information, I'm not really sure that he can read.

ALL YE ‘LECHEROUS OLE’ WEASELS AND FAIRTAX JACKASSES’:

We THOUGHT FairTaxer’s are passionate patriots who know the FairTax is perfect for each of us, our families, our economy, and our country. We THOUGHT the FairTax is the answer for the TEA party patriots because it is a stimulus that gives us our whole paycheck, solves the economic crisis because the FairTax allows businesses to grow and to provide jobs and research and development, and buffers the immigration friction with a taxing method that assures all immigrants pay their fair share.

Well, you THOUGHT wrong! All of you are really “lecherous old weasels wearing belts and suspenders, driving you old beat up cars” and are “JACKASSES who call yourselves conservatives who want to avoid paying your taxes.” All of you are the “root cause of the latest Obama VAT tax idea that really came about because of your fairy tale tax idea that will never happen.”

Yes, FairTaxer’s, THAT is what you really are!! That is what was announced to all of Texas on AM 700 KSEV radio, Houston, and 1160 KVCE radio, Dallas, on May 29, at about 7:55 AM by talk show host Edd Hendee on the Pat Gray and Edd Hendee Show. If you don’t believe it, go to http://patgray.podbean.com/2009/05/29/pat-and-edd-29-may-2009-hour-02/, click on “Listen now”, advance to minute 32 and listen to the remainder of the show (maybe 8 more minutes).

A caller responded in a gallant effort to inform him that the FairTax is NOT a VAT tax. The typical Edd Hendee response was to unplug him…as I and many, many FairTax callers have experienced.

Hendee has been informed, emailed, called and received every method of explanation in existence and all result in the same conclusion of his blatant ignorance.

I suggest all of you “lecherous ole’ Jackasses” boycott his restaurant, call his radio program demanding an apology, and request FairTax promotions by his stations for our FairTax cause. Texas, if we do nothing, we deserve the usual FairTax trashing we get from him.

Well edubwa, I advertise every where I go, in either vehicle. Plus, I generally have a Fair Tax cap on, when I'm out in public. I know I'm just one, but I'm sure there are others. When I send an email, it is signed "I support the Fair Tax" I'm trying. I'm doing my part. All you have to do, is go to the Fair Tax site and order. They have a lot of nice stuff. My next step, and I'm sure it would be extremely appropriate now, is to get some shirts. T-shirts, button ups, something. I'd put up yard signs, if my cows knew how to read, call, and vote. They're smart, but I haven't got them trained that well, yet. You do have a good idea. Everybody ought to hit the site, and get something. Go have a look at it.
