Thought the time for 3rd party was Dole vs. Clinton fiasco. Dang, just did the math. But of course I was the only 1 p*ss*d off. Then again, we are still pandering & playing patty fingers w/ Republocrats, sending lists...

I appreciate more and more the brite minds that put FairTax together and avoided all of the nonsense.
The Fairtax "IS" the solution. We do not a third party, we need to educate the public about the FairTax. Since I read the books 6 months ago, and I understand it completely without confusion anywhere, I have spoke to over 50 people about it and only 4 or 5 have ever heard about it. All of them are in favor of it, except for 1 angry idiot who walked away. The Tea Parties are a good sign that people are getting fed up. The politicians will never do it on there own it takes too much power away from them. 110 million voted in the last election, imagine 60 million of us standing at Tea Parties all across the nation with our FairTax "signs", thats the day it will happen. The people I told about the Fairtax were from all political backgrounds, when a working class citizen learns about the FairTax he likes it. See you later gotta go play golf.
That is exactly right! A new party just complicates it that much more! The lobbyists are the ones driving the resistence. They stand to lose it all.

We must stay focused and not be side tracked. We all understand the simplicity of the Fair Tax, and it is true Tax Reform! Educate people to the truth. It will happen that way!
Amen!
Randy and Dennis,
I admire your zeal. I only disagree with your tactics and that is not a critical difference. I fear that this movement is likely to be co-opted by the political establishment.
Here is how they do that. First, you apply pressure to a few sympathetic members of congress. They "Sign on" to the fair tax. They even introduce legislation for you. The Fair Tax Bill is sent to a congressional committee to investigate. Months go by. Your friends in congress promise they are fighting for you. They prove it by hiring some of the best minds in the fair tax movement to work on their staff. Now, your friendly members of congress are up for reelection. The leaders of the Fair Tax Movement tell you that the best hope is to work hard to make sure these people get reelected. Again and again.
What I am talking about is educating the citizens as the main focus the politicians as we can but the main focus is the people because less than 5% of the people know anything about the FAIRTAX. The way the FAIRTAX will become law is the public demanding it from the politicians. I do not see them doing it on their own it takes too much power from them, remember only a few of them are honest servants of the people the rest are d-m- crooks. And the lobbists make million dollar salaries they are going to fight like wolverines against the FAIRTAX. You will know the true servants of the people when this comes to pass they will be the first on board, dishonest politicians will fight and spin it because they can not buy votes and hide their spending. When the public is educated it will happen.
Sign me up.
Where did you get the info "110 million voted?" I got as far as wikipedia party affiliaton #'s, trying to guestimate the # of folks we need to recruit. Mr. Hoagland on "forum Ken H. responds...." said "we need @ least 5 million more supporters."

I'd like to know the total currently converted to FairTax. The things I saw about party affiliations to me are suspect. But in trying to guestimate the # of folks we need to reach I am thinking it will be 1/3 of the voting public. On another post/forum (or it mite B this 1-can't find) another fellow also made mention of this party math.

Mr. Wall's success rate is fantastic! Where can we find good sources to check the #'s and try to figure out how long it will take to get 5mil more supporters, how many folk actually vote & how, party affiliation?-that sort of nonsense.
> Michele, I believe the numbers are; 3500 in each Congressional district, 10,000 supporters in each district electing a member on the Ways and Means Committee. So you can see that we don't need a majority, just enough to convince Congress that there is widespread support for the bill.
I certainly hope the Midwest Fair Tax Rally really makes a big splash so that support will grow! If all goes as I hope and anticipate, this will be a jumping off point for the July 4 Tea Parties.

I'm so pumped! I can't wait to go! What's better than a bunch of FairTaxers crammed in an RV cruising to the biggest FairTax rally of the year?! Wahoo! I've never even been to a FairTax rally and I can't wait!

That widespread support is comin'! I'd take that to the bank.
I recalled from the Presidential election it was closer than they make out, there was roughly 55 million on each side. I too would like to know how many total supporters we have. If we have 5 million then we could all educate 10 apiece. Do the math on that, whoops 55 million.
Where do you get the idea that we have 5 million. This site has 4123 members.
