Sent out my first batch of land mails to the Ways and Means.

I was looking at another post and thought start sending post cards called "Tax Facts" with the alternative "Fair Tax Facts" not to all at the same time but randomly and to different memebrs as well. Maybe 10 a week with 10 different facts then over the course of a month 40 different facts to all would be covered. If several of us could get together on whom we send them to, we could cover all 42(?) each week with 42 different facts. Post cards are cheaper and less cost per person who joins in with us. Concistency would be greater as well.
Please comment away to this idea.

I apologize to Earl for inadvertently calling him Ed. I am a senior citizen and entitled to my moments, especially when attempting to multi-task. Again, I apologize.

Ed- You are correct. However, should you be blocked or filtered out, you will know by not receiving an acknowledgement of the e-mail. The Congressional Contact System that FairTax Speaker and Numbers USA deploy is Fax communication. Herman Caine' Intelligent Thinkers uses e-mail which we can use or incorporate it on our own. It doesn't matter what type of communication method you use as long as it is strategically calculated and focused. Example, call on Mondays, e-mail Wednesday, Fax on Fridays and switch up whenever it is felt that the effectiveness has ceased, etcetera. The key is to let the recipient know that there are organized numbers of constituents with the same concern and they know that the messages equate to organized votes.

Emails are an effective and fast way of communicating, but so easily blocked. If you start bombarding them with emails they will just block/filter you out. Be systematic but not on a daily basis, snail mail is still the best, unfortunately.

Rick - Do you think sending e mails in the manner you suggest will diminsh the effect of my letters? I've sent 2 letters (available on the H W&M forum and I plan onsending one every ten days or so until April 15th. I like the idea of targeting a four memebrs a week for e mails and letters from people in their district for ten weeks or so. My spreadsheet of the memebrs has their district number. I would like to see if we can get each DD to coordinate their district's effort.

Thoughts? My direct e mail is hfstjf@aol.com

I am one of those who replied to your idea on the Yahoo DD group regarding contacting congress which you perceived as negative. I believe that convincing our "so called representatives" is the only way to get any legislation passed. That is why I have joined your committee in that effort. We may only differ or have not agreed yet on the manner in which we approach the task. I believe that there has to be a systematic approach in place that is directed with focus, controlled, monitored and measured in order to be effective.
For example, were we to have a communication tool calling for action targeting Rep. X, we would coordinate with the leadership of that congressional district, whether it is the CC, DD or SD to target that member of congress for a predetermined period of time. We would inundate the e-mail address and fax with the same message everyday or every other day until we achieve co-sponsorship of the FairTax. It just has to be a focused effort as opposed to what we have been doing as individuals sporadically at different times and days. That is my objective and how I feel we can get the message across to our elected officials.
I am going to send this message out on fairtaxDD as well. Who is with that idea?

This my second letter to the House Ways and Means Committee. I would appreciate it if others could send it to. I have attached an Excel spreadsheet with each member's contact info. I faxed and mailed it to both offices. I was disappointed with the response from FairTaxers to my first letter. It looks like no one likes this approach. I will continue on, although it would be great if the district Directors that have a Representative on the Committee got their people to send at least a letter to their own Representative.

Thanks

Dear Representative _________:

WHAT WOULD BE THE MOST STIMULATIVE FEDERAL TAXATION PROGRAM?

THE FAIRTAX!

Eliminating the payroll tax for employees and employers would inject over $800 billion into the US economy over the next year. Half of this would go directly to employees via a 7.6+% increase in every paycheck. Citizens could decide how to spend, save or invest this money. The other half would go directly to companies that create and maintain jobs. All of this with no administrative cost to the Federal government. How can you make this happen? Pass the FairTax legislation!

In an article in Financial Week, it is estimated that US companies could repatriate as much as $655 billion in foreign earnings if the Federal tax on foreign subsidiaries was eliminated. Imagine the effect this capital would have on today’s credit markets if it was deposited in US banks. How can you make this happen? Pass the FairTax legislation!

Some estimates say that over $11 trillion of the world’s wealth is held in Offshore Financial Centers (OFCs). Pass the FairTax legislation, which eliminates taxes on interest income, dividend income and capital gains and that money will come rushing into US banks. Imagine the effect this capital would have on today’s credit markets.

I respectfully request that a vigorous debate about the FairTax be the most important issue the House Ways and Means Committee addresses this year.

Sincerely,

Thomas J. Freeman

am District Director for NJ-8. I am trying to start a weekly letter campaign to the House Ways and Means Committee. I believe any real effort for Federal tax reform will have to start with this Committee.

My goal is to have a campaign that runs up to April 15th.

I have compiled an Excel spreadsheet that has the contact information for each member that can be used as a Word mail merge. I have also attached my first letter.

I faxed the letter to each Representative's DC and home office and I followed up by mailing the same to each office.

Next Monday I hope to send a letter that talks about the FairTax as the best economic stimulus idea. In the future I will try to follow up with a short letter that edits the ideas from each chapter in the book.

I am trying to get everybody to also send letters to the Committee members.

Thank you.
