The FT will be passed first and that will repeal the tax code. The repeal of the 16th amendment follows the passage of the FT. However, the FT will "sunset" if the repeal of the 16th amendment is not ratified in the allotted time period of…

Adding a VAT to the income tax will only accelerate the bankruptcy of the US of A. That will lead to no choice but the FairTax faster. That's my $.02.

I'm wondering the process that would be used in the event the FT was implemented. Would the 16th Amendment have to be repealed first?

Dan - I understand your concern - but I think that once the people finally understand the amount of additional taxes that will be heaped upon them in order to pay for this monstrous atrocity they will begin to give the FairTax some serious support.…

My concern is people are more determined to stop the Unconstitutional, socialist health care act and therefore will concentrate their focus on this and far less on The Fair Tax.

I think the "imbedded VAT (National Sales Tax) could be an EXCELLENT thing for FairTax supporters because NOW it will put many of those not cosponsoring now "for fear of both" being implemented...will cosponsor FairTax because FairTax…

Death Blow to the FairTax?

I just watched a segment on the Bill O'Riley show where a Fox News contributor brought up a point I never considered. The Healthcare Bill is going to cost somewhere between 2 to 2.5 Trillion dollars over a short period of time. The CBO numbers were bogus in order to get the bill "passed". Barrack and his machine know this and have planned for it. AFTER the November elections it is expected that a national sales tax, a VAT, will be proposed and "Passed" (or deemed?) on top of the current income…See More

Hopefully average Americans will wake up. I've also heard the IRS has bought thousands of Remington 870 riot shotguns (rumor??). All this expansion of the IRS is very troublesome. I have said (partly in jest) that the IRS was the American…

Roger that everyone. Believe me, I'm with you and this looks like a great plan. The nuts & bolts of the FairTax should be embraced by the left and moderates as well as the right. It's just that the far left has been "trained"…

Wow! Good luck with that Chiefcook! I know the FairTax is non-partisan, but I really don't believe this group is going to support a Tax Reform that takes power away from government and is based on free enterprise. I want to see Democrats and…

FYI, At our Watauga County GOP (Boone, NC)connvention last Saturday and resolution passed (unanamously I might add). The resolution calls for the FairTax to be brought to both the House and Senate floors for discussion and vote. The next step is to…

Who knows the mind of career politicians? All I know is the lukewarm aloof response I have always received from him about the FairTax. What I see in this latest newsletter is more of a conviction that the principals of the FairTax are desperately…

He already is listed as a co-sponsor anyway. Of course we are happy of any good news but if he was a co-sponsor already then why would he consider other proposals?

Good news from NC

I receive a newsletter from Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) by e-mail every couple of weeks or so and was very surprised with his latest. I have written him numerous times about the FairTax and always received a thank you reply that to me sounded a bit aloof although agreeing that tax reform of some kind was needed. Needless to say, this was a welcome surprise..... "For example, I think we have reached the critical mass needed to move forward with a game-changing idea like fundamentally reforming…See More

Very interesting article. It's not surprising that politicians would try to hijack the Tea Party movement. Hopefully most of the Tea Party supporters are smart enough to see through this. What is important is that people vote on principals and…

Question about Flat vs. FairTax

First of all, I went to the Freedomworks poll, voted and am glad to see that the FairTax is leading 70% to 30%. No surprise there, but I will be surprised if Freedomworks doesn't suppress the results just like the GOP did. Now a question...I don't mean to focus on Glenn Beck, but I'm just curious. On his radio show this morning I heard him say that we have a small window to repair the current disaster we're approaching and the way to do it is with the Flat Tax. He believes that the Flat Tax is…See More

Hey Doug! Be sure to sign up on the site so we can get this done. Take the candidate questionnaire too. You don't have to decide that you are a possible candidate but you should know the questions that are being used to determine the candidates who are willing to run. I ordered 10 books for $49 at the site so I can give them away to clients and friends. Order one for yourself from the site! Get on back over here as soon as you can!

Hi Douglas!

Welcome to FairTax Nation!

FairTax Nation a site designed and managed by FairTax volunteers to serve the needs of FairTax advocates by providing a place to share ideas, find resources and create new opportunities with the goal of passing the FairTax HR 25.

On Nation we are working on many projects. One is our 50 State Campaign. We want to link at least 1,000 active volunteers in each state to work together in a national effort to pass the FairTax. That would give us at least 50,000 active volunteers able to communicate, plan events, etc. I know some people want a FairTax rally in Washington D.C. This is how we build the organization to make this event and many others possible.

Please feel free to invite your FairTax friends to join us.

Thank you!
Marilyn Rickert
