Embedded Service Taxes

Hi Arthur,

I concur with you that there is some language in the bill that is a bit confusing and convoluted. I have forwarded to Congressman Linder's office some suggestions for better understanding of certain sections and noted some errors to them as well. His staff has replied and indicated they will take these under consideration along with Congressman Woodall's additions for the next introduction of the bill to the 112th Congress. I also strongly advise you to read the pamphlet,…

Been Reading H.R. 25, Have Questions

In general, I have been a promoter of The Fair Tax for several years now. However. recently I have been trying to better inform myself about the provisions of H.R. 25 so that I might be better armed to defend The Fair Tax from those who raise objections to it. In studying the bill itself, I have discovered additional questions THAT I HAVE about it, which I must ask and have answered before I can continue my support for it.

As I read through…

Hi, Folks!

Just a note from the Gary Kauther campaign for Congress here in the 7th Wi. Congressional district.

Gary recently toured the district with his 1951 Farmall tractor and burned the U.S. tax code in effigy along the way. Gary is an Independent running against the might of the combined Republican and Democratic campaign war machines. They've put in over 4…

Education Through Organization-Friendly Websites

More effort by the F.T. organization and individuals is needed in education and promotion of the Fair Tax through organization-friendly websites. For all their pro-business efforts regarding capital gains, the AMT, estate taxes and lower rates/higher credits, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has done nothing to educate their membership or suggest Fair Tax alternatives and benefits. Their total tax reform efforts focus on moving the ball a few… Continue

Nascar entry and supported by Americans! We need a car, a team and a driver!!!!

I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for some good drivers out there that really want to bring about a healthy change for America. I am out here in Redding Ca, with the best of the best Nascar supporters and followers and they all think its a great idea and a time far over due!!!! This is excellent publicity and there are some youthful drivers out there with cars that would love the lime light and opportunistic chanllenges it would bring. Why not?

The Enemy of My Enemy

Libertarians are to conservatives what socialists are to liberals – ideological anchors that restrain drift to the unprincipled middle. Libertarian principles intensify the conservative message, and conservative political potency acquaints the public with libertarian themes. We need each other.

Just two short years ago, libertarian Ron Paul was ridiculed within his own Republican Party for demanding Constitutional limits on government, cutting government expenditures, calling for…

What do you think?

And really what are taxes for? I just recently read about a man who lost his home and the Fire Dept. watched it burn because he forgot to pay a $75 annual fee. He lost his home and his animals over $75. What are taxes for? The Fire Dept. is supposed to be included in our county/city taxes and if not, should people be refused in an emergency? Sometimes life happens and people forget. I wonder if they even get a statement or a bill to remind them of such a fee. I am totally… Continue

Welcome New FairTax State Director for New Hampshire, Don Overman

Everyone,

Please welcome our newest State Director, Donald L. Overman, of New Hampshire. Don's leadership will be particularly valuable in an area where the FairTax has been dormant.

Although Don is the newest member of our group, he is one of the original advocates of replacing the Income Tax with a consumption tax. Don has been part of this effort since his college days, and he…

Since You Asked . . .

When the President’s own supporters skewered him in his town hall meeting this week, he dodged their questions by challenging the tea party movement to name specific spending cuts we would approve. Ok, since you asked …

Abolish the Department of Education; leave the money in the hands of local school boards and parents. Implement FairTax and abolish the IRS. Abolish the Agriculture Department, and privatize the FDA. Abolish the Department of Energy, and maybe we would finally have…

Tax The Rich

100 of us go to a tavern; the richest guy buys 42 tap beers, the next 9 buy 48 tap beers, 43 buy 10 tap beers, and 47 of us drink tap beers for free. In Wisconsin, we say "thank you" when someone else buys our beer; apparently in Chicago, they go find a community organizer and demand martinis.

The top 1% of income earners in this country - nice people like Oprah and Aaron Rodgers - make 28% of the income, yet they pay 42% of the income tax. 47% of Americans pay no income tax. Is…

Tea Party primary wins give boost to 'fair tax' plan to kill federal income taxes

Tea Party primary wins give boost to 'fair tax' plan to kill federal income taxes
Primary victories by Tea Party candidates have given a boost to the so-called fair tax, a reform proposal that abolishes incomes taxes — and the IRS — and levies a tax on spending instead.

The levy received little attention during the 2005 tax reform debate under President George W. Bush because experts warned it raised less revenue than the current system and…

Cosponsor #64 added to the FairTax bill - Where does your Congressman stand?

The 64th co-sponsor on HR 25 was just recorded September 14 - Virginia Foxx of NC. Congratulations to all of the North Carolinians who helped make this possible.

At the end of the last session of congress, we had 72 co-sponsors on HR 25. That number represented an increase over the previous session and the FairTax bill in the house had recorded increases in co-sponsorship every session since it had been introduced in 1999.

When our volunteers are interviewed about the…

I know support for the fairtax is not dead

I know support for the fairtax is not dead and more post in support of the fairtax will help educate people on its virtues, e.g. its ability to turn the economy around, reverse the trade deficit, bring jobs back to america, make free trade fairer, increase productivity, eliminate 1/2 of lobbying in congress, make politicians listen to their constituents more, and eliminate billions of hours and billions of dollars spent to comply with a massively complex tax code, thereby leaving more…

Liberty and Prosperity

This November’s choice between capitalism and socialism is not about whether you are rich or poor right now; it is about which of those two you wish to be tomorrow.

The inescapable lesson of economic history is that free market economies make everyone unequally richer, while state-controlled economies make everyone equally poorer. Which do you prefer – rich or equal? Free people overwhelmingly choose rich, which is why socialism can only be imposed by force or fraud.…
