Spread the Word

I only have an AAS degeree, I know many of you have more college education than that but one of the things that was stressed in several courses was goal setting, I'm possitive that has been the case in many of your courses as well. Especially in business management classes. If the Fair Tax has set goals each year they have kept them a secret, I've been on their mailing list for years and I've never seen specific goals laid out. I have mentioned a more "organized" approach several time and sort of rebuffed saying this is a grassroots movement. What is to say grassroots can't organize into beautiful sod? There are a couple of states that seem to be organized on the state level and that is commendable. Can we make it 50 states in 2009?

Please respond and let's make this happen.

Have received some warm responses from local chambers of commerce. our local committee is going to send letters to our congressional rep and chambers. Can anyone here direct me to a short/easy form letter that you are using as an 'entry way' to the FairTax for groups/people who are not yet involved?

I have written my own stuff already, but it always seems very long winded. I"m looking for something short, 1 page, that we can sign and stamp and send off in the mail.

thanks!

Townhall Meetings is an option on my FairTax Nation "ON-LINE" petition...may I copy this and send it out to my state members? ALSO it is VERY important to NOTE: Attend EVERY TownHall Meeting in your "STATE" in FairTax gear or a FairTax Sign that you can.

An Email I've received today from Ken Hoagland:

Dear FairTax Leader,

The time has come for face-to-face “education” of Members of Congress. Our database of Town Hall meetings provides us listings of local Congressional Town Hall meetings across the country. This is where the “rubber meets the road” for the FairTax.

In the coming weeks grassroots coordinator Sean Matula will be calling you and asking for help. E-mails will be sent to every local supporter asking them to attend these meetings. Because Members of Congress deliberately keep advance notice of these events short, you may have very few days to encourage local supporters to attend. That is our challenge.

As we have seen before, however, when confronted with determined constituents, Congressional support and co-sponsorship of the FairTax legislation gains ground. When faced by knowledgeable supporters, wrong impressions of the FairTax get erased and deliberate distortions answered. Be ready to take on the excuses, the fallacies and delays by your Member of Congress. Let's remind Members of Congress that the federal tax system should serve more than Congress and lobbyists. Our tax system is badly broken and the FairTax is the solution. To that end, we’ll be providing talking points and other downloadable information for FairTax supporters who attend these meetings.

We have been rebuilding the national base of supporters, awareness of the issue and our national momentum over the past 18 months. Now we must exercise our grassroots muscle and make a real difference. All of our rallies, recruitment efforts, advertising and other grassroots activities really build toward this—direct communications with elected officials. Even with short notice, together we must get every FairTaxer in your area to attend these meetings and make the point that the FairTax is the answer the nation needs.

The rest of this year we will be asking state and district directors to turn the supporter base out to these meetings as they are announced. This is our chance to increase co- sponsorship of the FairTax legislation and begin moving us toward the floor of the House of Representatives.

This is what it is all about. Please help in every way you can.

Thanks,

Ken Hoagland

SEC. 903. WAGES TO BE REPORTED TO SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION.
Employers, including self-employed persons, must submit such information as is required by the Social Security Administration to calculate Social Security benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act, including wages paid, to the Social Security Administration. The Treasury Department will prescribe the form on which the information is to be transmitted. To ensure that the employer is complying, he/she must provide a copy of the employer submission for each employee to said employee.
For purposes of reporting wages to the Social Security Administration, wages means all cash remuneration for employment, including tips to an employee and self-employment income. Wages do not include:
1. Any insurance benefits received (including death benefits)
2. Pension or annuity benefits received
3. Tips received by an employee over $5,000 per year

Social Security Question:
If SS payments are determined based upon our lifetime earnings, when we move to the FairTax how will the federal government know how much we earned?

Yeah you Conservatives & Libertarians are completely nuts!! There's no way Obama wants to remake the country into a Socialst or Communist country. You are a bunch of conspiracy believers!!

Oh wait a minute.. They just offered a Resolution to repeal the 22nd Amendment today. Read here: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=hj111-5

In GA, specifically in the 9th District (from the northwest corner of the state east to Gainesville and south to Forsyth County), my goal is to continue increasing the numbers of our grassroots promoters. Tax day Tea Parties drew lots of attention and rallies motivated many who already believe in FairTax to go to www.FairTax.org to sign the petition. We had successful post office rallies in town across the district. We need to keep the momentum alive and growing.

Check the EVENTS schedule for a Webinar (Understanding The FairTax) to be conducted next week.
This is available nationally and will allow those who cannot get to meetings to learn about the FairTax from their home and their computer.
