Freedomworks is an organization whose solution is the Flat Tax.
Do we want to add credibility to that movement? I don't think so.

New podcast is now live, my interview with my guests were Kellen Giuda, nationwide grassroots organizer who just launched www.parcbench.com and Steve, the CEO of www.freedomsfirst.org. Kellen organized the February 28th NYC Tea Party (the one I spoke at) which got a tremendous turnout on such short notice and is organizing another large one for April 15. Kellen.

Great to see so many patriots come alive and express their concerns about Tea parties. But what does this country need?

• A stimulus for all of us! What is more stimulating than our whole paycheck?
• Employment, jobs and a robust economy! No business taxes means businesses produce cheaper products creating more sales and more jobs for us and our children coming out of college.
• A system that assures everyone pays for education, medical care, and police and fire protection!! The FairTax assures everyone pays their fair share.
• Save the family farm or business for our children and assure that our retirement and estate remains ours!! The FairTax lets everyone keep all savings and investments and assets.
• And get rid of America’s abomination, the IRS.

Again, stay the course and demand Washington pass HR 25, S 296 and all the financial system ails disappear.

All of the ideas I have heard take money to research, study and time to write. Then negotiations and bickering will be needed to create a final bill. When will all of this happen with our present distractions in Washington?

The FairTax needs nothing. It is already researched, studied, written, approved by economists and ready for a vote.

Let’s demand that of Washington until we get it. Scream about that at those tea parties.

I agree with Steve, the tea bags are held up at the post office for security reasons, voter registration cards would be a much better use of our time and money.

I tend to fall into the "make them" camp. Our elected officials have complete control of the reins of power in Washington. What they don't have is control over the votes from their home districts. If we are sufficiently organized to effectuate change in election results, members of Congress will listen. Otherwise, they could "care less" (Apologies to those few who actually do care, but it is obvious the majority are in it for themselves, not for their constituents.)

On that basis, I am not sure sending tea bags to Congress will make much of an impression. Sending voter registration cards from their home districts, with a big red "I have had enough" will.

Being able to promote candidates in primary elections who support the FairTax, or work against those who don't, will also get their attention, as will showing up at their campaign events and making them take notice of our numbers. (I also know that FairTax has 501(c)(3) limitations on what it can do, but as individuals we have more latitude!!).

We need to take a page from their own book, and use the power of the ballet against those who will not support the FairTax. Anything else is hoping that the Angels in Washington will eventually come around to our position, and willingly sacrifice their power and perks for the good of the Country. I don't see that happening now, or in the near future.

Virtually every alibi you gave can be countered with this thought.
I did not say our representative feel a close to their constituents. I said,"Those closest to the people are our congressional representatives. They want our vote."
Meaning we do not vote for the party leadership unless they happen to be from our state.
The congress (House & Senate) need the vote from their constituents. We need to have a powerful enough grassroots base to deny or provide that vote.

Consider this. For those who won't cosponser becuse the will lose party support. We have the vote. What good is party support?

I think we do have a way to take back the country. Actually I propose there are two ways.
1. Do not reelect anyone for two elections in a row. They will get the message the the power is with the people. This means a strong grassroots movement.

2. Run the rodents off the continent like we did to the finest army in the world in 1776.
The question then becomes, do you have the courage to give your life for your country & your posterity's sake? I do!

It is time we stop making excuses for ourselves Dave. Either we are serious about getting this job done or not. As you have seen from many of the posts on Yahoo groups as well as FTN and other FT communications platforms, there is a lot of preaching to the choir. A lot of 'college professors' who know the theory but never practiced what they preach. If that were converted to real action we'd have a lot bigger base of active supporters.

I disagree but don't have a lot of proof only a few snipets from a candidate. But here in Ohio I think we have some who are not opposed to the Fair Tax and is so indicated on the Congressional scorecard but they will not co-sponsor because if they do they will lose party endorsement and campaign money and they figure they can't get our votes without those. We have a longer way to go than what we've come if we think we can scare them more than the party heads. I do however think Independence Caucus has the right idea with their Big Stick tea party if they can pull it off. We have to find a way to take our country back and as of yet we haven't figured it out. And to think that our elected officials feel a closeness to their constituents is pretty optimistic. Out of all the letters I written on the state and national level I've gotten 1 yes 1 non-form letter. We have had meetings with our reps staff and they have been courteous but never so much as a response from the rep. You want to know how much they care watch the videos at Independence Caucus. I'm sorry to be so pessimestic but maybe it is just being realistic.
