I only have an AAS degeree, I know many of you have more college education than that but one of the things that was stressed in several courses was goal setting, I'm possitive that has been the case in many of your courses as well. Especially in business management classes. If the Fair Tax has set goals each year they have kept them a secret, I've been on their mailing list for years and I've never seen specific goals laid out. I have mentioned a more "organized" approach several time and sort of rebuffed saying this is a grassroots movement. What is to say grassroots can't organize into beautiful sod? There are a couple of states that seem to be organized on the state level and that is commendable. Can we make it 50 states in 2009?

Gentlemen, you are doing great things today. What do you think if we write letters to the following people who are unhappy with the current chaos: Jack Welch, Warren Buffet, Jim Cramer, Andy Grove and B. Biggs? They voted with the dems and think our housing and financial crisis need immediate attention.

It comes down to a grassroots door-to-door shake their hand and treat all disassociated and forgotten voters as potential "advanced citizens" to support the Fairtax. Maybe produce a Fairtax magazine that a person can be subcribed to that mimics the AARP approach. Heck we can use our increased membership to command preferred insurance rates and the like. Make it cool and rewarding to be a part of the Fairtax Movement!

We need to use the current conversation about rich vs poor to our advantage. A lot of Democrats I know think that this will only help the Rich. One way we can attract more democrats is by using their message through. I came up with this idea, it's based on the theme of big bonuses to Wall Street, etc..

It's obviously cruedly done, but if done better, it could be effective.
Other ideas could be comparing a rich persons grocery list to an average persons, or a rolex next to a plain watch, yatch next to a fishing boat, Rich persons suit next to a JC Pennys suit.

WE were at CPAC and we will be at DailyKos thing later this year.
We think we will have a convincing pitch for those attending Kos event and by then we will have a much better set up. Like Dave said, show us some democratic events and we'll do all we can to be there. I went to every funtion the dems held as a candidate in my district the last election and offered FairTax. There were a lot of interested regular people but the 'leaders' roundly rejected it.

In fact, we all need to be calling Rep. Dan Boren and asking what's up with him not supporting FairTax as a cosponsor! Without at least him on there, it DOES become a strictly partisan issue, not by our choice but by what is FORCED on us.

Jabari is absolutely correct as are others that have expresed similar opinions on this subject. We must realize FTN is young and all of the members of the leadership and flying by the seat of their paints. Having said that it now is begining to appear FTN will become the site where ideas will mature into action. To this humble observe it seems that a "Leadership committee" must soon grow from this group. I strongly suggest that thought be given to forming an executive approach to consider a course of action that will dovetail Jabari's comments. Lets hear others thoughts.

Guilt by association works both ways.
I really don't want to get into the blame game here but I think you are also not looking at the whole picture either.
You seem to forget that the FairTax bill was intended to be biparitsan from the very beginning. A congressman was supposed to get a member from the other side to cosponsor with him so that it would stay that way.
Then comes the party players who threatened the democrat cosponsors for their support saying if they support the bill they would lose their committee positions. So dems bailed and turned it into a political football.
It was the Democrats who insisted that this be a right/left issue from the very beginning. It was also the DCCC that ran lieing ads against congressmen who supported FairTax.
Now even Boren is not cosponsoring FairTax? What's up with that?
Whats the chance on getting MSNBC to start talking good about FairTax?
You give me a Congressman who is a member of the Democratic Party who supports FairTax and I'll have his face on the front page of FairTax Nation right there with Rep. King. Rep. King would be glad to have it that way.
This issue is a 'right vs wrong' thing but the Democratic party has worked very hard to make it a 'Right Vs Left' thing.
Lets see some democrats in power start talking good about FairTax and I'll see to it that they are shown plenty of love on this site.
