Spread the Word

I only have an AAS degeree, I know many of you have more college education than that but one of the things that was stressed in several courses was goal setting, I'm possitive that has been the case in many of your courses as well. Especially in business management classes. If the Fair Tax has set goals each year they have kept them a secret, I've been on their mailing list for years and I've never seen specific goals laid out. I have mentioned a more "organized" approach several time and sort of rebuffed saying this is a grassroots movement. What is to say grassroots can't organize into beautiful sod? There are a couple of states that seem to be organized on the state level and that is commendable. Can we make it 50 states in 2009?

Please respond and let's make this happen.

Dear Shelby.
This is a superb and appropriate slogan.
Thank you.

After reading a post in the discussion forum by Jim, I went to Sarah Palin's facebook fan page and posted a pro-fairtax message urging Sarah Palin to support the FairTax. She has almost one million facebook fan page members. A lot of people will see your message to her and possibly even her. Perhaps even a lot of her fans will click like on the message when you post this message, or you can let us know when you post your message so that all of us FairTaxer's can click like on it too. :)

Oh, there is one more government benefit to the inflation tax. It increases income and therefore taxes also. Synergy. :-)

Did anyone notice on Glenn Beck's program yesterday that we have increased the US money supply 120%. Since the banks are (on average) not lending most of that, the velocity of that money is low. Hence it has not yet created inflation, and most people think we do not (presently) have an inflation problem (wait about 2 years for that, said Mr Beck). But we clearly have a government problem.

Brazil during the 1960s (I lived there with my family for 9 months) had about 80 to 100 % annual inflation because they printed money instead of taxing (most) people effectively (other than through Cruzero (at that time) currency debasement).

Do you believe the federal reserve (and treasury under Tim Geitner who paid taxes only when 1/3 Billion people were watching) are independent of politicians in control of taxes? So, our government is likely "enacting" a large inflation tax on all American consumers and businesses (in addition to cap and tax, healthcare "fines" on the free enterprise portion "competing" with the proposed government monopoly, sodas, etc.).

The American people at town halls have said they do not want this. And look at the polls on this issue.

Should we not change the "primary" political issue in the portion of the press that reports news into promoting the Fair Tax? How do we do that? One way is to seek promotion of the Fair Tax BY PRESENT SUPPORTERS, and especially WORKING ON NEW (Blue Dog especially) prospects on the other side of the isle from all but one of the 58 house Fair Tax supporters. Shall we do that?

Can we get this issue "legitimately" ("fair and balanced") into the news media? That requires momentum. Then getting news organizations to recognize that. Can we? Shall we?

Bob.
Anything of value will be challenged. Assure Duffy that if he knows the FairTax well he can beat the BS by speaking freely about its benefits every chance he gets even mentioning that those who want to keep the complex income tax for their financial benefit will demogogue it. Then when his opponent does demogogue the FairTax with the typical untruths the people will already know the truth and that the opposition isn't telling it.
Provide him the document FairTaxFAQ.pdf suggesting he become familiar with the first 20-30 questions. His personal confidence in the FairTax will carry him.
If Duffy doesn't have the confidence to handle the flak, see if you can find another candidate because Duffy won't take it once he gets the seat either.

Incremental progress is better then no progress. Although Duffy may not support the FairTax during the campaign, he might after getting elected, particularly if he thinks it will get him re-elected. I say work with him informally, but with the understanding that he will be asked for more in the future.

I have a problem in Wisconsin that I am sure many of you have dealt with and need some advice on how to proceed. We have a candidate running against the Stimulus author- Dave Obey in Wis-7. His name is Sean Duffy. He is the DA in Wisconsins most northern county on Lake Superior. He is also married to Rachel Campos (Duffy). Many may not recognize this name but you will soon. She and Sean were on the MTV reality show Real Life. She is on Hannity's panel on Fox on occasion and was on The View last week among other things. Sean has notified us that he will not come out in support of the FairTax even though he likes what he sees. He has been told that he will be demagogued, and that Obey will accuse him of raising taxes 23% blah, blah, blah. Obey has an admitted disdain for "FairTaxers" calling us "idiots" at one time or another. Do I keep after him to support or ask for support should he get elected???

As an aside, make sure you check out what I-Caucus is about to do to Barbara Boxer in California. Here is a link to that info http://www.ourcaucus.com/boxerbrief1.html and also start notifying all supporters of The Inconvenient Tax documentary they can see a trailer at this link http://vimeo.com/channels/aninconvenienttax . We need to use these 2 venues to increase our support base.

Hi Folks,
This is a message I sent to GOOOH leadership:

Hi Folks.
I love this format for a new "non - party" political party. I joined and did not express as much interest in sponsoring or even being a candidate as I might now, having answered the position questions (many very good, well considered policy stances). A few I had questions of whether or not to go "libertarian" with fewer laws, or "hard line", but otherwise felt very good about those positions I supported, and know clearly most I strongly oppose. Again, this is a superb process.
And the voters will be able to choose. A statesperson says what they believe, then stands on that conviction. Then the citizenry can choose among statespeople. How unlike the lobbyist bribing with campaign contributions of politicians as how the present system has become. I hope to participate in this process with others of similar mindset.
Keep up the great work.
Oh, I also like limiting the "special" power of lawyers and judges in the purported justice system (actual fraud and extortion network "preying" on other citizens and our society).

A way to field citizen civil servants to actually enact the Fair Tax?
Laura McCue may have found an answer already. See http://www.fairtaxnation.com/profiles/blogs/if-you-want-the-fairtax-to
Her suggestion is Get Out Of Our House (GOOOH).
http://goooh.com/home.aspx
http://goooh.com/Learn.aspx
New "technology" takes off when all needed "complementary technology" is present. For example, microprocessors, disk drives, Operating System software, etc. to enable a personal computer revolution. "Technology" in essence is just a means to get something done.
Business, political and societal innovations behave likewise. America needed the "technology" of all articles of our Constitution to overcome the momentum of "always" serving a king or emperor (as had always previously been true). Colonies and colonists needed to band together, each with their core competence contribution, an army with father of our country class leadership, etc.
GOOOH may be just the "complementary technology" the Fair Tax needs to circumvent politicians presently beholden to special interest lobbyist money. The old cronyism "technology" needs "disruptive technology" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disruptive_technology ) to replace it. Perhaps GOOOH is the answer. It is certainly worth a try. And networking with like-minded patriots may help build both Fair Tax Nation and GOOOH to cooperate in this revolution to restore the republic.

Threatening to vote against incumbent legislators because they fail to support the Fair Tax will be more effective if we can "field" alternate (challenger) candidates who WILL support the Fair Tax. Can we develop some of these? Jim's suggestion to discuss the Fair Tax (also) with the opponent of Representative Baird is an example.
Can we find (or build) other examples of new candidates to run against Fair Tax non-supporter congresspeople?
