I only have an AAS degeree, I know many of you have more college education than that but one of the things that was stressed in several courses was goal setting, I'm possitive that has been the case in many of your courses as well. Especially in business management classes. If the Fair Tax has set goals each year they have kept them a secret, I've been on their mailing list for years and I've never seen specific goals laid out. I have mentioned a more "organized" approach several time and sort of rebuffed saying this is a grassroots movement. What is to say grassroots can't organize into beautiful sod? There are a couple of states that seem to be organized on the state level and that is commendable. Can we make it 50 states in 2009?

Please respond and let's make this happen.

It's game day April 15th.. This is the Leadership group and I assume most are going to be attending the Tea Parties.. How will you make a difference on that day? It would be nice to hear the plans of people..

IMO this is the launching pad for better days. My goal is to try a recruit at least 1 liberal for the cause... We all know they will be there.. If I can't do that, I want 2 more leaders in my county to work with me. I have printed up 3000 door hangers and I will need help hanging them.

Taking it to the streets...

A dem pol might like to here ( I would) something like.

"I am a Republinan who would seriously think about voting for you if you were supporting FairTax."

I use postcards also and my pitch is that every American benefits because every one of us lost 30 to 60 percent of our various retirement plans. Keeping your paycheck helps replenish your funds and I would like mine tax free to make up the difference.

Great work Bob Martin! Man if we can get some Democrats on board that would be great! I know it's been talked to death on these boards, but I hope you, or anybody, who meets with him "Thinks like a Democrat". The fair tax is unfortunately looked at as a Republican plan. We have to recognize that. We need to get off the stats and market this thing more effectively. The fact of the matter is "everybody benefits from the Fair Tax". But the side we need isn't buying it. If I were to give a pitch to Rep Kind, it would be strictly based on how the "working poor" benefits THE MOST. And I emphasize "the most" for a reason. The perception is the rich benefit the most. We have to get past that. I thought some of the images I posted had some good ideas on how to market this to democrats.

I appreciate Larry Walters ideas about the post cards. Maybe instead of how many votes he won't get... let's flip it and tell him how many votes he WILL get if he adopts the fair tax. The postcards could emphasize the pre-bate and higher taxes on more expensive items as illustrated in my images I posted.

The fair tax will save our nation ladies & gentlemen... Our problem is not with the Conservatives, it's with the liberals. We need to sell them on this.

Bob,
The most powerful thing you can do to get Rep. Kind's attention is show him the votes he'll not get when he runs for reelection.
Consider using the post card method we are using here in central florida. It is far more effective than the Tri-Folds and people feel better about knowing they are comminicating directly with their representatives, opposed to just getting on the AFFT database. We take care of that by having the name/address/email, etc put onto a spread sheet that can be directly uploaded to AFFT's database.

I talked to Rep Ron Kind this morning in a listening session along with a number of other FairTax supporeters. His usual comment is about unintended consequences. I think he was a little surprised that I had a very lengthy response for him and he cut my response a little short but seemed to be somewhat satisfied. I had the supporter next to me corner him to meet with a FairTax representative in Washington and he agreed. I have the e-mail contact for his scheduler. Do I contact Ken Hoaglund somehow or Aaron Schutte to set this up? Does anyone know where I go from here. Kind is supporting pay as you go measures so I think if we hammer him we can get somewhere with him on the revenue side also.

An hour later my partner in crime with the FairTax here in Wisconsin got to him also. My partner is on the Chamber Board where Kind went affter the listening session. He had to field more questions about the FairTax at that meeting.

I saw some of the Geraldo show last night, he did an interview with "Joe the Plumber." He asked some questions that are common misconceptions about The Fairtax, but Joe did a good job of answering the questions.

I heard on the radio something about Geraldo Rivera doing a story on the fair tax and getting it completely wrong. Anybody have more details or a link to the story?

I love the open debate idea. How about Boston Univ. as a setting and LAURENCE J. KOTLIKOFF, a Democrat as a debater for the Fair Tax? Anyone have enough clout to make that happen?

I have just launched a new blog, hopefully it will take off quickly, I plan to write about the Fair Tax in future articles, once I have some following. My immediate goal is just to get people motivated to get up and do something. The address is www.stephenrigg.blogspot.com, please check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks, Stephen
