“ This was my first experience with learning about the Fair Tax. I was amazed and fascinated with the concept, and all the detailed information about it. A first-class presentation.

Fair Tax update
Fred Shimp from Congressman Jordan's office called me Yesterday. The congressman wants feedback from Tuesday night's Fair Tax presentation.

People should call and leave a message for Fred or speak to him personally, or email, or write. They want 2 or 3 bullet points regarding the appeal of Fair Tax from individuals and business owners. Fred is tracking this information. This is extremely important so please contact him.

One of The Ohio Liberty Council member groups, the Columbus Tea Party, has a great offer for you!

Here's the deal, Number 1, 2 & 3 in talk radio.

We are offering $100 (each) for someone to call into their shows and give them the message about TheOhioProject.com. That's $100 per show.

Let's face the facts...Secretary of State "Brunnifer" has currently side-tracked our Amendment initiative. The Ohio Supreme Court (on the basis of the evidence supplied) has agreed to hear our appeal to the ballot board's POLITICAL hatchet job on our amendment. What this has effectively done is delay our efforts by another several weeks of being able to collect signatures on a real petition.

OUR HOPE = TheOhioProject.com

We are currently building a physical infrastructure of volunteers from the state down to the precinct level. We'll be ready to roll with petitioners as soon as we get the green light... but we need more pre-registered petitioners in our database. WAY MORE!

Our 2 Best Hopes:
(1) If you pre-registered in TheOhioProject Database we need you to get 5 more people to do the same. I'm sorry to be so blunt- but many of us are burning the midnight oil and doing everything we can in our spare time, for zero money to help save our country. If you pre-registered... we thank you... but frankly, it's not good enough.

We need 600,000 people by the end of June and we're at about 23,000. We might as well hand it over to Obama and Pelosi and tell them we're too busy to fight back.

They get away with it because WE LET THEM.
We let them because we're TOO BUSY and hope someone else will stop them. THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS YOU!
Get 5, 10, 20 more people to pre-register.
It's the only way.
If you don't think it can be done watch this!

(2) We need to reach out and spread the message through Talk Radio. Millions of people listen to talk radio but are not on our email lists. We need to reach them in the most efficient manner possible.

DETAILS:
The first person to reach Rush, Sean, or Glenn and give the basics of the message outlined below will each earn $100. You must record the show as proof as well as give us day and time.

$100 Dollars for 60-90 minutes work

Here's what we want you to say
(in a nutshell - does not have to be verbatim, but you can read it if you want):

===============================================

I'm calling to let you know Ohio Is Fighting Back against Obama-care.

Unfortunately our Attorney General (who's a democrat) won't file suit against the federal government and so a coalition of Tea Party and 912 groups have initiated an amendment for the state constitution and we're hoping to get it on the November ballot. We raised the initial signatures, our language was approved by the Attorney General, but then the Secretary of State pulled a fast one to stop this from happening.

The Ohio Supreme Court has agreed to hear our appeal...but here is the reason I'm calling you _______________. We're going to need to collect about 600,000 valid voter signatures to get this on the ballot. We have no money, and they must be turned in by the end of June to qualify. We have no money and no time. The only weapon we have is technology.

We've established a website to pre-register people so we can monitor the numbers and better organize our collection efforts. I'm hoping you will help me get this website out to all your listeners in Ohio so we can defeat this Obama-care mandate.

TheOhioProject.com -- This will pre-register people to sign the petition, so once we get approved, we can hit the ground running.

OTHER NOTES (in case they engage you in dialog):

Cannot collect signatures until ballot is approved by Sec of State.
Ballot Board (headed by Sec of State Jennifer Brunner) tried to divide our petition into separate issues and thus kill it.
The Ohio Liberty Council is pushing the amendment and they have approximately 34 statewide liberty groups comprising their coalition.
===============================================

Sometimes it takes 30, 60, 90 minutes on hold to reach these guys. But still, it's well worth the time considering it's in the cause of saving our country. Plus $100 to the first person to reach each host.

Steve Curtis gave a great Fair Tax presentation in Marion, OH, last night. We must have had 20 or 30 in attendance. Lots of interest, lots of enthusiasm. Hats off to Voices of Liberty 912 Marion and Infinity Restaurant for hosting this event.

I copied this from the OHFairTax.org newsletter:

OHFairTax.org

National News:

Mike Huckabee has been promoting the FairTax on a regular basis on his weekend TV program on Fox. If you have friends who you think might be interested in the FairTax, but need a "personality" to convince them, urge them to tune in to the Huckabee show and see what he says. You might also drop Huckabee a line and let him know that his support of the FairTax is appreciated!

Glen Beck has been pushing the idea of a straight 12% flat tax on both individuals and business. Of course, those of us with advanced math degrees realize that 12% (individual) + 12% (business) = 24% total, or about the same as the FairTax. Plus, under the FairTax, we do away with the IRS, annual filing, recordkeeping, and a host of other issues associated with individual income and business taxes. It might help to let Glen know that we appreciate his efforts, but he'd be better served by promoting real tax reform rather than redoing a failed policy. It's interesting to note that Art Laffer, who is leading Glen on this suggestion, pointed out that Reagan did about the same thing during his administration, and it worked well under Reagan. The problem is that, since Reagan, the tax code has been amended more than 11,000 times, and morphed into the monstrosity we have now!!!

VAT vs FLAT vs FAIR --- Oh My
As predicted, the more support for the FairTax grows, the more others are trying to confuse the public on the issue. We are seeing/hearing many reports about a "national sales tax", and then the author goes on to describe the VAT tax, often without clarifying the difference between the VAT and the FairTax. We are also seeing many more elected officials now promoting the idea of "tax reform" based on the Flat Tax.

We are going to have to work twice as hard now to keep the public from being confused!! All FairTax supporters need to know, understand, and be able to explain the differences between the FairTax, the VAT, and the Flat Tax.

What a great event in Wasnington D.C. I never talked about The Fair Tax to so many people, from the Lincoln Memorial to the capital, From the freedom rally to the Washington monument!! I was going only as a spectator and found out that my real purpose of going was to spread the word. I was actually speaking to groups and individuals and never imagine the response. It was a God send!!
One of the best part is how AFFT is joing forces with Freedom works and all other taxs group to bring us all together for the common cause of fixing out current tax systems.... What a rewarding experience!!!!!!!!!!

Great Job!! The last week has been outstanding in terms of number of people hearing the FairTax message.

I did the Mercer County Tea Party on Sunday. Had about 50 folks that were very enthusiastic.
I also was part of the "warm up" act at the Nutter Center Tea Party on Tues. I'm guessing about 200 were in the seats when I did my thing, but there were more milling around, made some good contacts with elected officials and got a chance to "bend their ear" about the FairTax, and our booth did well.

Thurs I went to Marietta for their Tea Party, and I estimate a couple of hundred folks. Handed out a lot of stuff and talked to many folks, in addition to giving a talk on the FairTax.

I echo the confusion on the FairTax vs the Flat Tax, vs the VAT. I think the confusion is deliberate on the part of the media and Washington so we are just going to have to explain it again and again to fight their obfuscation efforts.

Barbara, Billie, Kate and Rodger went to Zanesville, OH yesterday for the Zanesville Liberty Group's Tax Day rally. Kate gave a speech in support of the FairTax, and we collected many signatures for our FT petition. There was a high level of interest in the FairTax, and I'd say it was a success. There is still confusion about FairTax vs. flat tax vs. value added tax. We need to keep educating and persuading people!

Our very own Steve Curtis, State Director, gave a great FairTax presentation to the crowd. Thanks Steve!
