This was taken from "AsAMom" the Ohio group:

PORTAGE COUNTY TEA PARTY MEETING

Our meeting from last week that was postponed by weather is set for this coming Tuesday, February 16, 2010. If is very important that all of our members attend this meeting. With the filing deadline for most candidates that want to run for office this year set for next Thursday, February 18th, we need as many of you at our meeting on Tuesday as we can get, to sign the required petitions those candidates need to get on the ballot. This will be our last chance to get this done and it is critical that we get enough signatures on Tuesday night.

In particular, we have a TEA Party Candidate named Steve Christopher who has agreed to run against Mike DeWine for Attorney General and he needs to get 1,000 signatures by Thursday. With your help on Tuesday, our group should be able to give him 200 or more. It is important that we get him on the ballot so we can let the Republicans know that we are not just going to vote for whomever they want just by default. We are going recruit and elect conservative candidates regardless of who either party tries to push on us.

So, bring your family and friends to NEOUCOM, at 7:00 PM on Tuesday night. The address is 4209 State Route 44 in Rootstown, just about a mile South of I-76. The parking and conference center are on the south side of the building. You are also going to meet Dr. Michael Pryce, a potential Independent Candidate for US Senate, Dr. Bing Henderson who is taking on Tim Ryan in the 17th District US House race and a very interesting candidate for Ohio Secretary of State, Sandy O'Brien. After the candidates speak, we will also take care of some important TEA Party business. We'll look forward to seeing you on Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.

Best Regards,

Tom Zawistowski

I want to let the miamisburg teapartiers know that city council are metting to raise city taxies from 1.75to2.25.That metting will be Feb 16. I dont the time, but all councilmen are for the tax hike expt for Drarin Preston. We are very luky to have such good patriots as Donna Webb of the Dayton Liberty Group. She also saids that the school bord is metting the same night at 7:00pm.They to raise the levy higher than it was on Feb 2 and put it on the May battol. I really feel like they are trying to keep this to them salves and keep us in the dark. This must stop. We need to hold are councilmen accountable and defeat this school tax again. We who have to pay these taxies, for now have tighten our belts the city and schools must do the same. Can anyone find out what time the council metting is.PS yes I,m pissed off.

Actually, once the FairTax is passed, the really hard work of defending it from the various manipulations of Congress will begin. I have no doubt that, before the ink is dry, someone from the Progressive caucus will be demanding that changes be made "in the interest of 'fairness'". Of course, his/her fairness will result in less freedom for Americans, and more power for them.
Something we can no longer allow!!

Thanks Steve, I'm beginning to see that maybe the hard work we all put in over the years could be paying off. Just Maybe, After the 2010 election will begin to see results. However we shall never get to comfortable or else will lose it. Its never over until HR25/SR296 is signed and delivered, stamp and sealed!

Josh Gregg has been talking to Jordan's staff and, from his reports, Jordan supports the FairTax. We are talking to him about possibly being a co-sponsor, but that remains to be seen.

Jim Jordan is the 4th District Congressman. He is a supporter of the Tea Party. Is their anyone who knows or is from this district knows if he supports The Fair Tax?
