I am a member of GOOOH Ohio and I run a meetup in the second district, is there anyone here that could give a Fair Tax presentation to our GOOOH group. Fair Tax has a strong support in the GOOOH process, but we could use more information.

Tom Ganley is running for US Senate. He spoke at our Breakfast meeting on Nov. 28th. His PR man said Tom is very supportive of the Fair Tax.

ACTION ALERT!!! Call your Ohio Senator NOW and tell him or her to VOTE NO on a RETROACTIVE INCREASE in Ohio income taxes!

Call your Ohio Senator NOW and tell him or her to VOTE NO on a RETROACTIVE INCREASE in Ohio income taxes!

There has been a lot going on in the past few weeks, particularly with the health care and cap and trade fights in Washington.

But Ohio has an issue which urgently requires citizen action as well. Governor Strickland has requested, and the General Assembly is about to enact, a 4.2% income tax increase that will be assessed RETROACTIVELY on all Ohioans back to January 1, 2009. I’ve attached my open letter to the Senate which tells them Ohio needs spending cuts not tax increases.

I’m forwarding an email I sent to AFP Ohio members earlier this week letting them know about the situation. The only practical way to stop the tax increase is to prevent it from passing the Senate. In fact, the House has already passed the increase out of committee and is expected to pass the measure today.

First call the Senator in the district in which you live and tell him or her that you expect them to vote against this tax increase. If you don’t know your Senator’s name or phone number you can find it here: http://www.ohiosenate.gov/directory.html by entering your zip code. Then and MOST IMPORTANTLY, call these five Senators and ask them politely but firmly to vote no on this retroactive tax increase. The votes of these five Republican Senators allowed passage of the Governor’s irresponsible budget last July:

*Senate President Bill Harris 614/466-8086
*Senator John Carey 614/466-8156
*Senator Keith Faber 614/466-7584
*Senator Tom Neihaus 614/466-8082
*Senator Mark Wagoner 614/466-8060

They need to be impressed that Ohio’s economic future, and their political future, is dependent upon Ohio not imposing a tax increase on Ohio workers in the middle of a recession.

We know the left is gearing up to ram this tax increase through. The SEIU has been running TV ads this week in Cleveland that say that child molesters will be released from prison unless the governor’s tax “freeze” is passed.

I ask that you forward this to members and friends and ask them to call.
We need to close down the Ohio Senate phone system to let them know we are serious.
Thank you for all you do. Call with questions,

There are 956 FairTax members listed on this site. Only 809 have signed up for this group. If you go to the "members", search "OH" which will bring up all the members from Ohio. May I suggest you drop a short note to each of the members just to get acquainted? Do you think we could get all of them on the Ohio group?

Please call Ohio's U.S. Senators' Sherrod Brown and George Voinovich and urge them to support Sen. Vitter's census amendment. Call the Washington DC office and or their district offices in Ohio.
What should you say when the staff answers the phone? "Please ask the Senator to support Senator Vitter's amendment to the Commerce, Justice, and Science appropriations bill to protect Ohio from losing one or more Congressional districts. If illegal aliens are counted during the 2010 Census, states like California, Texas, and New York will likely gain Congressional districts and Ohio will lose one or more districts. Thank you."
DC Toll Free Numbers: 1-866-340-9281 (ask Capitol operator to be connected with the US Senators' offices. ) (If line become busy, try 1-877-851-6437 or 1-866-220-0044.)
(Ohio District Toll Free Number for Sherrod Brown: 888-896-6446)
What else can you do? Call other Senators using the toll-free number:
Get your friends and family to make calls too!
