I don't know where we pick up the table or what time we can pick it up.
There is a McDonald's south of the city on High St. that is a great spot to meet. It's about one mile south of the Statehouse.

Sponsor of OH Statewide Liber-Tea Party is Ohio Liberty Council. Learn more about them @ www.ohiolibertycouncil.org. They are asking for donations to help defray the costs.

$75. pays for rent of table from the state for Aug. 1. I've already paid it, so if you all can chip in a few bucks to help me out with this, surely do appreciate. My SS check is a small one. Not complaining, just limits spending.

We will not be permitted to sell anything (ie bumper stickers, books, etc) @ Aug 1 statehouse Tea Party.
If any of you can make mulitiple copies of various specific info, ie FT for Seniors, for health care, manufacturing - you get the drift) from FairTax.org, please do. Might be cheaper to make a copy & go to Office Depot - they can make a bunch for relatively inexpensive price, also Americans for Fair Taxation is tax exempt.

Teresa,
Sounds like a good idea. I will, however, probably have several people with me. Do you know where we pick up the table? Let me know were we can meet. PS are you going to be at the Clark County Fair in Springfield?

I will be at the August 1st Tea Party in my FairTax shirt & will have some money to help cover the rental cost. Where & what time do I need to be there to get the table & set up?? Barbara do you want to meet somewhere before & go together?

Sorry guys! Ishould have added to my previous comment that you were both wrong. if you are the seller , you add 22% of your COST to get the selling price! 22% of your selling price is different.
Comment by Richard & Daphne on July 22, 2009 at 2:18pm
Josh, When you took a percentage of a percentage you introduced a small error. If the price paid was $100 with 22% imbeded that is 122%. Then 1%=$100 Divided by 122= $.82 for each percent or a total of $82 original cost! Compare this to your calculations. and $18 is the 22%, which has been added.

You are correct, based on the 22% assumption. A valid question is how much of the embedded taxes will disappear, and how much is contained in various items. We believe that market pressures will result in most of the embedded taxes being removed as manufactuerers try to capture market share. Historically, this has been the case and, under the FairTax, it is believed to be true as well. The second question of how much embedded tax is in different items depends upon the manufacturing process for that item. Goods with many manufacturing steps involving different companies, will have a much higher embedded tax then simple products that involve one or few producers. For instance, we'd expect that home-grown produce purchased at a farmer's market would have much less then 22% embedded taxes, while a new computer might be much higher.

FairTax has done studies to estimate the actual embedded taxes for various products, the results of which can be found on the FairTax.org website.
