I added a discussion in the forum but going to put it in as many places as I possibly can. If you go to Wag The Dog 2010 and watch the videos there is an explanation of something we can do to help our own cause. It is something doable and I would like to see us be organized about it. I will try to do what I can in Dist 3 to see that we have as many positions filled as possible. Watch the videos 2 or 3 times if need be.

Billie, I added your post to the blog "Patriots for America-Constitutional Emergency" (http://patriotsforamerica.ning.com/) suggesting they modify for their local, state, and federal politicians.

Billie and Frank, this is wonderful. Billie, I think I'll send GA's Government Reform to Ohio legislators, governor and perhaps Kasich.

Great job, Frank and all FairTaxers attending!

This week was very active for the FairTax locally. We did visits with both Congressman Austria's staff and A Senator Brown staffer. Both meetings were attended by state director Steve Curtis who did nothing short of a fantastic job countering arguememnts and concerns expressed by their offices. While both meetings started off with a somewhat lackluster attitude by both parties, Steve had them paying attention very rapidly. We'd also like to thank others who showed up in support and made various points along with Steve. They are Fairborn councilman Frank Cervone, Phil Claypool, Bob Whigham, my wife Connie and myself. We'll keep this site posted as to what we hear from them as soon as we get something back.
We also attended the Greene County Republican luncheon held on Monday of this week. We are planning on a presentation to them in June or July. There were already several people there who know about the FairTax, but more who did not. We are scheduled for July but will be ready in June as a backup plan should there speaker for that meeting not make it.
Last but not least, We had our monthly meeting at Roush's Thursday night. We had a couple of new visitors, enjoyed some good food and shared information. Thanks to those who were able to attend.
Thanks, Frank

Here is what Georgia is doing. What is Ohio doing?

Government Reform
>
> WHEREAS the purpose of civil government is to preserve the fundamental rights of its citizens, not to control the private marketplace; and
>
> WHEREAS in founding our Republic, the states gave the federal government only those limited powers that are specified in the US Constitution ;
>
> THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Georgia Republican Party affirms its opposition to the taxpayer funded bailout of US businesses, the unprecedented level of federal deficit spending , and the federal government’s unconstitutional assault on state sovereignty.
>
> LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED the Georgia Republican Party opposes government involvement in the private marketplace that is not specifically provided for in the US Constitution and supports full Congressional oversight of the Federal Reserve including passage of HR-1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009.
>
> LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED the Georgia Republican Party affirms that the United States of America is a constitutional Republic and that the 10 th Amendment to the US Constitution clearly affirms that all powers not expressly given to the federal government in the US Constitution are reserved for the states or the people.  We hereby affirm Georgia’s state sovereignty and commit ourselves to principles that maximize the freedom and liberty of all Georgians .
>
> LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED the Georgia Republican Party supports fundamental tax reform by the federal government that will maximize personal freedom and allow the engine of America’s private marketplace to thrive.  We further believe that the most favorable opportunity to achieve these goals is to repeal the 16 th Amendment to the US Constitution and enact the Fair Tax, HR-25/S-296.
>
> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the President of the United States , the Speaker of the US House of Representatives , the President of the US Senate, the Governor of Georgia , each member of Georgia’s congressional delegation, and each member of the Georgia General Assembly .

I encourage you to check in with the daytonteaparty.com site. Rob and Perry are continuing to work hard to keep Tea Partiers active and engaged. They have suggested having small, local Tea Parties in addition to larger ones organized by the main group. I think that is a good way for us to network with others who share our concerns.
