Didn't recall seeing this here before. If I'm wrong, my bad. But we need to get behind this folks!

A note from FairTax Regional Director, Phil Hinson:

As most of you are aware, HR 1040 is the only flat tax bill in the House of Representatives, which is where tax reform legislation is supposed to originate in our system of government. I just checked on it and here is what I found.
The bill is now up to 10 co-sponsors. Hr 25 has 66.

POPVOX shows 773 votes recorded on the HR 1040 page with 68% opposed. HR 25 has vote a total of 5,276 with 80% in favor. That means that approximately 4,221 voters have registered their support for HR 25, while 248 have voted for HR 1040.

Just sent an e-mail to WIN America asking them to consider using the FairTax as their standard as it is an already established bill (HR25/S13) and has cosponsors in each house, has been well researched, and meets their needs.  I also made it clear politely that i expected a response. We'll see what happens.

Here's mine to Rate Coalition.  Take a look at their members list.  Good group to get interested in the FairTax.

You have highlighted most of the major problems with our current income tax system. It makes American business uncompetitive. It is too expensive and inefficient in collecting necessary revenues. It is a drag on the economy in good times, and stifles job creation and expansion during hard times such as we are currently experiencing. It is fraught with loopholes and exemptions that result in manifest unfairness, where some pay far higher rates than others due to political machinations.

Your solution, lowering the corporate tax rate, addresses many of these problems, but is still a small fix for a large problem. Instead of just addressing corporate rates, why not "think big", and consider the FairTax.

Not only does the FairTax lower the corporate rate to zero, it places American manufacturers on a level playing field with their foreign competitors, domestically and in export markets. This alone will increase American exports, encourage a return of American manufacturing to American soil, and spur the domestic economy.

In addition, the FairTax eliminates the corporate portion of FICA taxes, lowering labor costs. The FairTax also allows untaxed repatriation of profits currently being held off-shore to avoid the income tax system, providing additional trillions for business investments, plant modernizations, and entrepreneurial start ups.

The FairTax also ends, once and for all, the billions of dollars spent each year by American corporations to lobby Congress in hopes of avoiding punitive tax policy, or begging for tax relief. Under the FairTax, there is only one tax rate, and it applies to ALL retail sales of new goods and services. Instead of the tax policy merry-go-round that makes business planning nearly impossible, American corporations would have a stable, understandable, and dependable tax environment in which to plan and expand. Instead of spending billions to "buy" Congressional favor, and billions more in complying with incomprehensible tax rules, American corporations could invest those monies in plants, equipment, products, and people.

The FairTax does all this and more. Instead of simply trying to improve a broken system, be innovative. Think Big. Think about the FairTax.

Getting right to the point, I'd like to know if your group has considered the FairTax (HR25/S13) as the tax reform to back in your bid to reform the tax system. You would already have a researched and sponsored bill at the ready that has the support of hundreds of thousands of Americans. This bill was initiated by business and researched by many levels of the American people. It would eliminate the need for companies to spend billions of dollars a year on tax lobbyists, thereby improving your bottom line. There is much more that would be beneficial to your group that would make the FairTax your go to plan.

We need to influence this group people. We know what is needed for the American citizen and American business. Plae read this and start contacting these companies with you belief in the FairTax. Ask your friends and relatives to do the same. Sign up on their newsletter to stay informed on what they are doing. Can't stress enough how importnat this may be.
