look what the government is doing to the people that speak their minds on radio. its called the fairness act. I would like to see everyone march right down Pennsylvania ave. let them see how we feel. I don't even feel safe anymore.

My concern with the tea parties that it is giving people a chance to vent their anger but then what? The government doesn't care if we vent our anger as long as they can continue business as usual (which they are good at). Have you heard about the Big Stick Tea Party? They have a plan. They are more than just angry, it is a well thought out plan. I hope it will work.

Just heard an ad for the Dayton Tea Party. Without a doubt, the anger at Congress and their manipulation/subversion of the tax code is growing, and people want something done.

We need to be ready to give them the FairTax as the answer to their anger and angst.

FairTax.org has to be very careful about endorsing candidates, however individuals are free to support candidates of their choosing. Let's add this to the agenda for the next meetings in Dayton, Beavercreek and Fairborn. There's some things we could do now to prepare for the November 2009 election.

State ratification, if this ever passes the U.S. Senate & House, is a big hurdle.
We need supporters at every level to make sure this passes. State parties are fierce about who they endorse for the ticket & brutal if your choice isn't theirs. They circle the wagons like you cannot believe.
If, however, there was enough initial support for a candidate before they vet & officially endorse, we could influence the selection right from the start.
Otherwise, the Libertarian Party are the only Party that openly endorses the FairTax, and are dedicated to winning the smaller State races than National.

Mitch what can we do?
Comment by Mitch on March 24, 2009 at 5:11pm
I don't know about the Democratic Party's process for electing State Central committee members, but electing pro-FairTax members to either State Central Committee is a great idea, but it would also be problematic. Candidates are usually pre-selected by party bosses based on past loyalty to party candidates. It would be difficult to get elected without the endorsement of the leaders of the state parties. Since we have no U.S. Congresspersons who co-sponsored HR 25, it's likely they are advised by party bosses to avoid committing to the FairTax in writing. Once we get a few cosponsors, there would be a better chance to place a FairTax advocate on the state central committee.

Members of the Republican State Central & Executive Committee are elected every two years from each state senate district. By law, each district must be represented by one male and one female member.

How about we put some members on the executive committee that support the Fair Tax? Is that true of the Democratic Party also?
