Rep. King is very active on many national issues and I appreciate his active voice for the Fair Tax. You have to love John Linder for his presistance in sponsoring the Fair Tax in Congress. Be aware John gave up a committee chairmanship to be on the Way and Means Committee where tax policy is written. I called Rep. Rangle's office when his tax issues became public and suggested that he might want to think about the Fair Tax.

Below is a message about Rep King. I urge all FairTax supporters to call or send a fax/email to their Representatives asking for their support for Rep King. While many Representatives will refuse, this can serve as a "shot across the bow", letting them know we are serious, and that we don't intend to "let this crisis go to waste".

A message from Jim Tomasik to all members of Fair Tax Leadership on FairTax Nation!

Rep. King has stated that he will call a 'special order' to discuss the FairTax on the floor of the House of Rep. Rep. Linder has been made aware of all of this. We need some more Congressmen to step up to the plate and speak up for FairTax at the same time.

We will be notified in advance of the date this will be aired live on CSPAN. It is important that we gear up for this by using every means we have to contact all FairTax supporters, elected officials, and both the local and national media. This is what we have been wanting to see happen in congress. Stay tuned to FairTaxNation for further details.

Miamisburg March Meeting Was Exciting!

On Wed. Mar. 4 @ 7 pm, the Miamisburg FairTax group met and we had 2 new visitors. We saw a short video from FairTax Nation called "Lunch & Taxes: Less" which was short and sweet and very convincing. You can see this video here: http://www.fairtaxnation.com/

Kate and Rodger volunteered to look into having a Dayton Tea Party, and we talked about plugging into the upcoming Cincinnati and Atlanta Tea Parties.

Ohio FairTax Director, Steve Curtis, shared about giving a FairTax presentation in Medina soon.

Kate showed us the FairTax shirt she had embroidered and volunteered to make more for the members at our Miamisburg meeting if we supply our own shirts. Fabulous job, Kate!

We had a great meeting, and are looking forward to next month's meeting. Please invite all your friends!

For those of you living in the Ashland/Mansfield/Akron area, a Second Amendment group will be meeting this Sunday, 8 March. Particularly if you are also a gun owner, this might be an excellent opportunity to build some relationships with another group. I would encourage any FairTaxers living in the area to visit the meeting, find the organizer (Lisa) and ask for a couple of minutes to share the FairTax message. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, maybe hand out some literature, or just wear a T-shirt and talk to folks.

Their meeting announcement is below.

THE MID-OHIO CITIZENS FOR THE 2ND AMENDMENT WILL HOLD ITS FIRST MEETING ON 3-8-09

Patriots from Richland County and all other counties in Ohio will be meeting to discuss concerns about our endangered 2nd and 4th Amendment rights as well as the formation of County 2nd Amendment Networks and Neighborhood Defense Groups, on Sunday, March 8th, 2009 at 2 PM. The location of the meeting will be one of the area's largest outdoor sporting goods stores, Fin-Feather-Fur Outfitters in Ashland, Ohio. The Richland County Citizens For The 2nd Amendment will be in attendance.

WHEN: Sunday, March 8th, 2009

WHERE: The Fin-Feather-Fur Outfitters store at 652 U.S. Hwy 250 E, Ashland, Ohio

WHAT TIME: 2:00 PM (Daylight Savings Time begins on this date.)
