Woooo hooooo WA state has 3 community coordinators!!!
Kennewick(Tri-Cities), Richland and Enumclaw!!! After talking with a new district leader we thought it a good idea to have "WA District ___" groups. So as not to have too many "by cities/towns" and not so big it doesn't apply to you. There will be some STATE things you'll want to keep up on and we hope to have 09 WA state groups by district soon!!
If you are in District 04 please join our group and lets see what is happening...http://www.fairtaxnation.com/group/wadistrict04

Enumclaws first FairTax meeting went VERY well. we had 15-20 people show up and everyone was excited about another meeting. We have already reserved the library meeting office for May 7th to meet again, and if we all bring another attendee, we're hoping to double attendance!

I wanted to urge everyone to call your representative TODAY to urge him/her to participate (or otherwise pay attention) to the Special Order brought by Rep. King on the FairTax.

For those of you in Doc Hastings' district: the phone number is (202) 225-5816.

About me (FairTax): I’m a bill currently in DC. I am the income tax replacement system the will get rid of the 67,000 pages of tax code. I'm an ingenious combination of a national retail sales tax and a rebate system that untaxes every legal American up to the poverty level. I'm great for those of all income levels, business owners and their employees.

I make it so FICA, Medicare & Federal Withholding taxes are put back IN every one of your paychecks. I also get rid of the payroll tax, which is the most regressive tax of all. I get rid of the oppressive IRS as we know it and keep the government out of the business of playing favorites and auctioning off the tax code to Washington lobbyists.

I let you pay your taxes when you choose to, instead of siphoning it off the top of your pay on every pay day. I make funding our government more visible and transparent and put the power back into the hands of the American citizens where our Founding Fathers intended it to be.

I strengthen our economy, bring jobs and business investment back to our shores (currently over $13 trillion has exited our shores). I level the playing field for the American worker with our overseas competitors.

In short, I rule. Income taxes are oppressive, invasive, bad for the economy, inefficient and archaic. As the famous philosopher Plato put it, "Where there is an income tax, the just man will pay more and the unjust less on the same amount of income."

Folks, if a group of FT supporters meet once per month and create an agenda of action items to take care of in following month, what are some things that can be covered in such meetings? I can think of:

1. spread the word and invite others to join fairtaxnation.com and monthly meetings.
2. identify maybe weekly public locations to collect new supporters, be it the local wal-mart or a fair (we do have spring fairs arriving shortly!)
3. collect donations for the movement
4.???

I got Neal Boortz's The Fair Tax book yesterday and read the first half last night, it's an easy read, but I love it. Its informative and it takes real life situations and explains them in simple ideas that the people typically forget about.

As Neal said, everyone should get a copy of the book :)
