Did an interview with a newspaper in which I mentioned the FairTax.

Article here: 2nd District congressional hopefuls don’t always toe party lines

The interesting thing is that they asked my opponent, Congressman Rick Larsen, about the Fair Tax and got him to respond.  His comments:

Larsen, who supports the current progressive tax system, said he believes a Fair Tax is simply “a way to shrink the size of government and not solve any of the problems.”

I personally think shrinking the size of government IS solving a problem.

Someone from Tennessee started posting comments under the article about how the FairTax is bad.  Would be great if some FairTax supporters could set the record straight.  Not sure why someone from Tennessee cares so much about a race in Washington State.

#1  Would you agree we need to start FAIRTAX networking in our Congressional Districts?

#2 Would you like to have a WA State FT Supporters Conference Call NEXT WEEK? What day would be best for you? OR do you want to wait 'til the following week?

#3 PLEASE make sure you attend the movie AMERICA...there should be a movie trailer on Unfair the Movie Exposing the IRS which is coming to theatres in Sept. I can explain more on a CC.

Are there any FairTax experts in Snohomish County?

I have been invited to an event on the morning July 19th in Mountlake Terrace to have a friendly debate with some folks in my District on why the FairTax is better than a flat tax.  More people in my district seem to be pushing for a flat tax instead, and we need to educate them on the benefits of the FairTax.

It would be great to have a FairTax Nation "wingman" or two with me for this meeting to help with any questions come up that I can't answer off the top of my head.

Meeting info: COFFEE WITH CONSERVATIVES to discuss the Fair/Flat Tax with Congres...

My Campaign Facebook Page: B.J. Guillot for Congress

More info from the meeting on July 19th:

The Puget Sound Conservative Underground's next "Coffee with Conservatives" gathering will be a discussion on both the Fair and Flat Tax. Pushing the Fair Tax will be B.J. Guillot, Republican candidate for the 2nd Congressional District. Come meet B.J. and come learn about the Fair Tax and/or debate about why the Flat Tax makes more sense.

This informal gathering will be on Saturday, July 19, at 9AM at the Diamond Knot Brewpub in Mountlake Terrace.
(Directions -> http://www.diamondknot.com/restaurants/2088-2/)

You can just grab a cup of coffee, but I suggest you come hungry, as Diamond Knot serves breakfast - pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc.

The Puget Sound Conservative Underground
https://www.facebook.com/groups/thePSCU
The PSCU has these three basic objectives:
1. Promote Conservative Principles.
2. Provide Conservative Fellowship.
3. Encourage Conservative Action.
Members are asked to share ideas, information, and be encouraged by other conservatives as we try to stay sane in this crazy, liberal area we live in. It's important to get together (virtually and in-person) with other likeminded individuals in the greater-Seattle area to network, rant, and build friendships.

To RSVP for this informal "Coffee with Conservatives" gathering, contact Dan at dampinwa@gmail.com or sign up on the PSCU's Facebook Event page at http://on.fb.me/1lxbSFd.

A solicitor called asking me to support suing the IRS. I told her we need the Fair Tax. She said a lot of people had been saying that. Keep pushing.
