The Declaration of Independence of the United States of America invokes the self-evident truths that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that governments are formed to protect these rights and gain their just powers from the consent of the governed, and that when a government becomes abusive of these rights, it is the right — no, it is the duty — of the people to alter or abolish that government.
To say governments were formed… Continue

I understand that Hugh Hewitt opposes the FairTax and has gone as far as to co-author a book against it. I heard Hugh who appeared as a guest on Dennis Prager's talk show today and I have to say I have lost all respect for the man.
Some Hugh's spin against the FairTax comes right out of the power-and-wealth hungry incumbent playbook. But there is a deeper meaning for Hugh... his slobbering love affair with Mitt Romney. You see, to give the FairTax credibility means giving… Continue

Here's some questions I've been asked about the Auto Industry:
How do you see the structure of the US auto industry in 5 years from now? 10 years? Will there still be a Big Three? Will imports increase or decrease in sales?
The auto industry should have been trying to "compete" before now. For Chrysler & GM, its probably too late.
Ford is the only one that had half the sense to get their act together without government funding. I applaud… Continue

I am new to the Fair Tax and am still trying to learn what this would mean to us as taxpayers. Should we succeed in getting the Fair Tax put into place, this would mean the US would have to repeal the 16th Amendment in order for it to work-so it would have to be conconcurrent movements. What would keep the states from "exercising their rights" and start their own "state, city or county" income taxes if they so chose to do so? It would appear that the 26% would work only if all other entities… Continue

I could be for a flat tax, but the FairTax calls to me. Changing our tax code will not solve all of our countrys woes, (only an informed populace could do that) but it would go a long way.
I am willing to do what I can to help make this a reality!

WOW! For those of you who were not able to attend the tea parties or watch the coverage of them (as minimal as it was) you missed something great. What I found that was the most interesting point made in the coverage of the tea parties was Shaun Hannity's interview with Joe the Plummer, Mike Huckabee and Neal Bortz. He asked "So do you think that what we're seeing tonight maybe is the spark, the proposition 13 that ignites the fire that Americans say, we're not going to take it anymore and… Continue

Dear Mr. Hewitt,
I was disappointed with the content of your radio interview with your fellow Chapman University Professor, Hank Adler, on April 21, 2009 about the FairTax. I read the transcript. If your interview is indicative of the content of your book, both contain numerous straw men and material omissions, the effect of which is to mislead the audience.
I have replied previously to a piece by Mr. Adler. You can read my November 26, 2007 piece, "A Harder Look at the Fair… Continue

I think the show went well, and I would love to hear your suggestions for what we might do better next time! And I do believe there will be a next time, and more.
The post show comments were pretty positive. Here is my comment back to them this morning:
Thanks to all who listened and to all who commented. I was very grateful for the opportunity that was offered by John, George, and Jose.
"I purposely tried to avoid partisan rhetoric because I understand the need… Continue

Thank you for contacting me again regarding the "FAIR Tax". I appreciate you taking the time to share your views with me. Thank you for sharing a link to Congressman King's special order.
As I mentioned in my previous correspondence, one of my highest goals is dramatic reform and simplification of the federal tax code. Amerian taxpayers deserve a tax code they can understand. We must replace our current code with one that is simpler, fairer, more uniform, and… Continue

Why buy American?
The consumer must have the freedom to purchase the best product at a fair market price. However, there are consequences to those choices. Our loved ones fought to repress communism during the 1950's, 1960's and now most of our dollars are supporting imports that move manufacturing and jobs out of the United States. Office Furniture Firm www.officefurniturefirm.com will focus on keeping our $$$ (as much as possible) here in the states. American made furniture is far… Continue

Can anyone provide information or thoughts about the proposed tax treatment of a mortgage payment on a new house? Would be entire contribution to principal be taxable? Or would there be a formula dividing that into consumption and saving? Would the interest be considered a service and thereby taxable? Does H 25 cover the details on this subject?

Thanks to grass roots, Republicans, Fox, Rush, Democrats, Boortz, Libertarians and the thousands of local organizers the Tea Party Revolt was a huge success. The fascist in Washington downplayed the protest. So be it. Like in any contest there is not enough time to worry about the other side. Let the intelligence operations in the Republican Party worry about the fascist in Washington. Real change will have to come from outside Washington and that is where the protest is… Continue

This was originally written by a fellow FairTax supporter and has been modified a little by me. It's a good read about what America would be like under the FairTax. I hope it makes you want to see it happen! Share it with others to help them see how good the FairTax could be.
Come and dream with me for a minute.
April 15th has come and passed and I didn’t file a tax… Continue

Despite the grand efforts to educate our lawmakers there is little effort on their part to even entertain this cause.
Continue to write and secure those writings so that this and another generation can read of the efforts. What I believe we need more than ever urgenly are; get to know our Fair Tax Nation supporters better, work closer in the personal lives of supporters to make them sufficient for themselves and their family, make sure no member is at risk of losing their homestead,… Continue

Wanted to share our exciting news in South Georgia - Am reposting an email from Phil Hinson, our SE Director :
Former GA S/D Gene Key and I made the long drive (3 1/2 hours one way) down to Thomasville, GA for a presentation yesterday. Thomasville is just a few miles from the Florida state line, probablt within 35 miles of Tallahassee. The meeting had been set up by our new turbo DD in that congressional district, Charlie Prochaska of Albany. Charlie had made the acquaintance of the… Continue
