What is the FairTax plan?

The FairTax plan is a comprehensive proposal that replaces all federal income and payroll taxes with an integrated approach including a progressive national retail sales tax, a rebate to ensure no American pays federal taxes up to the poverty level, dollar-for-dollar revenue neutrality, and the repeal of the 16th… Continue

Income tax and colateral damage.

The income tax when used as a weapon in class warfare, levies terrible collateral damage to the whole of America.

Common Sense for our TEA Parties!

We the People of the United States of America are deeply troubled with the current direction of our great nation. At the core of our grievances is “taxation without representation” similar to that which our original American Patriots stood against at our nation’s founding.

Our elected officials have, over many decades, moved away from serving “Common Interests” of the people and of the nation to serving the “Special Interests” of Big Money Campaign Donors.

Gingrich Predicts Third Party in 2012

Posted by Economics9698 at 3:09 PM |

Finally the Republicans are seeing their demise spoken from the lips of one of their own. Thank you Mr. Gingrich for being honest with your fellow comrades. The Republican Party died the day former president Bush signed the first bail out of $152 million in the form of rebate checks to the American taxpayers.

February 13, 2008 was the day the Republican Party surrendered any last shred of… Continue

Energizing the base from ground zero.

Political movements of all shapes and sizes have been born, lived, and died in our nation's history. Very few of the successful ones moved quickly. And they surely didn't succeed without sacrifice and individual and collective effort. Ours is no different. Our movement is to radically alter the methods by which the Federal Government collects its revenue or, more appropriately, its share of our personal fortunes. Our movement paves the way for Americans to begin seeing the true cost of their… Continue

In defense of capitalism

We hear much these days about how immoral capitalism is because it encourages greed avarice and dishonesty in pursuit of riches. I believe there is some truth in this. The fault though lies in people's character, not in capitalism. In fact, the key difference in this regard between capitalism and statism is that in a capitalistic system the greedy, avaricious, and dishonest must answer to the people and the government while in a statist system (creeping socialism, fascism, communism) these… Continue

Send a FairTax Tea Bag to Washington

There has been a lot of noise made recently about sending tea bags to Washington to express our growing concerns about unfair and exorbitant taxes. While I think this is a great idea in theory it is not very practical. For one thing the tea bags will likely not get past the security measures at the Post Office, and for another you would be paying yet another tax in the form of postage to get it there. Here is the next best thing to inundating our… Continue

The Individual leaders

Ronald Reagan once said "All great change in America begins at the dinner table." He was a man well known for his quick wit and humor that connected him to a broad audience. There isn't a single polititian in history that I agree with 100%. If I agreed with them 100% then they are not polititians, they are angles. Without getting into a long history about the Reagan presidency, we can all learn something from his emphasis on the individual. If you believed that government could handle your… Continue

Specter Introduces Flat Tax

Specter introduces flat-tax

@ 3:25 pm by Eric Zimmermann

Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) has introduced legislation calling for a 20% across the board flat-tax. His office touts that the policy would replace the 17,000 page IRS code with a simple "postcard that could be completed in 15 minutes."

“My flat tax legislation would make filing a tax return a manageable chore, not a seemingly endless nightmare, for most taxpayers,” Specter said in a… Continue

Participating in something worth doing!

It has been a while since I have been involved in something big... For some reason though, the tax bills and bail outs in congress have peaked my usually unpolitical agenda!

I have now become involved in creating a Tax Day TEA Party here in my home town of Martin, TN. Though doing something this huge in 2 1/2 weeks is something most people would not even consider undertaking, I am viewing this not only as totally possible, but also a thrill!

I am involving myself in my… Continue

Thanks for the support in Lometa

We manned a Fair Tax booth in Lomta, TX this past weekend at the annual Diamondback Jubilee. Over the day we had 7 volunteers come out to help raise awareness for the Fair Tax. While the turnout for the event was very low and very few people came by the booth, we enjoyed an opportunity to meet and visit with like minded and active Fair Taxers.

A cold and sand filled wind howled all day, most of the vendors didn't show up, and very few people attended the Lions Club event. Needless to… Continue

Stimulus Plan

The words of a great man spoken many years ago describe why the Stimulus plan put froth by our present leaders will not work.

"You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help small men by tearing down big men. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot keep out of trouble by sending more of your income. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatreds. You cannot establish security on borrowed money. You… Continue
